[Mercs] What if the Mysterious Stranger were back?

First, as a reminder, let me cite 24.6 Patch Notes:

Finally, as the Mysterious Stranger’s job is now done, they will no longer appear in mystery nodes—they will be replaced by the Cursed Treasure node.

But is it, though? Some people would like more trade offers, others wouldn’t mind a few extra task — why couldn’t the MS still apear and allow to ‘discover’ a visitor to the campfire? What do you think?

I think mercenaries is an afterthought for them at this point.
