It occurs to me, that I wouldn’t have to be annoyed by all these problems in Hearthstone, if I uninstalled Hearthstone.

Persistent Disconnection and Error Issues in Mercenaries (PC & Mobile - Asia Server Affected)

Dear Blizzard Support Team,

I am writing to report a persistent and frustrating issue I’ve been experiencing with Hearthstone’s Mercenaries game mode. For the past six hours, I have been unable to play Mercenaries on both my PC and mobile devices due to frequent disconnections and error messages.

The primary issues I encounter are:

  • “Disconnected from previous game. Reconnecting…” which cycles repeatedly, preventing me from entering or staying in a game.
  • “An error occurred while starting the game. Please try again later.” which appears when attempting to launch a Mercenaries bounty.

This problem occurs consistently, regardless of whether I’m playing on my PC or mobile device. I’ve also confirmed that this issue is happening specifically on the Asia server. I have already tried reinstalling the game, but the issue persists.

I primarily play with a Fire deck in Mercenaries, and my goal is to progress and obtain loot, but these technical difficulties are preventing me from doing so.

I suspect this issue may be related to a recent patch or announcement concerning the upcoming November expansion, as these problems started occurring shortly after that update.

Could you please investigate this matter and provide a solution? Any guidance on how to resolve these persistent connection and game-starting errors would be greatly appreciated.

UPD:

Is the mode disabled now? At least PvP seems to be.

UPD 2 :

The same — rather generic — error message (‘There was an error starting your game. Please wait a few minutes and try again.’ ) when starting a PvE fight in a bounty, but the game tries to load it anyway, apparently without success. Restarting the game brings you to the main menu.

Apparently, Mercs are disabled for now, probably for them to investigate the issue.

The game crashed in combat in the Mercenaries mode. After restarting, the mercenaries mode froze, and when I entered combat, it said: An error occurred during startup. Please try again in a few minutes.
This message has been displayed for two days, and the mode is not available.

Hello everyone,

Mercenaries mode is currently disabled to allow our teams to work on a fix.

Attempting to start a game will present a generic error message ( “There was an error starting your game. Please wait a few minutes and try again”).

When I start the fight, I get the error “An error occurred while starting the game. Please wait a few minutes and try again.”
I’ve been trying for two days.

:loudspeaker: [MERCENARIES - September 30th] Mercenaries has temporarily been disabled while we work to address the underlying issue. Attempting to start a game will present a generic error message “There was an error starting your game. Please wait a few minutes and try again”.

Hello, every time I try to play PVE or PVP, a message pops up saying “There was an error, please try again later.” But it’s been doing this for two days now, both on PC and on my phone.
I’ve tried doing various things, repairing the app, and clearing the cache, but nothing works.
I love Heartstone and Battlegrounds, but I found it too fun.
Could you help me?

When start a mercenary game there is a window pop up
“there was an error starting your game, please wait a few minutes and try again”

I have the same error popping up in both pve and pvp Mercenaries. Can’t play any of the bounties.

  1. Regarding the Mercenaries mode’s activation: Could you please clarify the long-term plans for the Mercenaries mode’s availability and continued operation? Is the mode expected to remain fully playable, or are there any anticipated changes to its accessibility or scope in the future?
  2. Regarding compensation: Given the shift in development strategy for Mercenaries, will there be any form of compensation, acknowledgment, or special consideration provided to players who have invested significant time and resources into the mode?
  3. Regarding partial activation (e.g., PvE): Are there any plans to modify how the mode is maintained, such as potentially limiting certain features or focusing specifically on PvE content, while ensuring the overall mode remains present for players to enjoy?
  4. Regarding future patches: What other aspects of the Mercenaries mode (e.g., bug fixes, balance adjustments, minor quality-of-life updates) will continue to receive patches and maintenance moving forward?

I think this might be Blizzard’s way of telling the playerbase that they’re simply phasing out the mercenaries mode, because it’s not profitable. It’s our fault, really, for not giving them more money.

This have already been answered years ago

The game is in maintenance mode, it will no longer receive content updates and will just be fixed in case of major bug

There has been no shift in the development, why do you expect compensation for something that didn’t happen ?

For a production environment being down this seems to take awfully long…
