I can’t use anything else on my MacBook Pro 2019 when running Hearthstone (CPU at 117% for just hearthstone process). I have the 2019 Macbook Pro 32GB ram, i9 processor, Radeon Pro 560X 4 GB, and have disabled the “automatic graphic switch” (energy mode) to force the computer using high performance graphic card. I’m also on MacOS Mojave. The game makes my computer entirely unresponsive, to the point where I actually can’t play this game anymore…
Doesn’t work for me, same issue.
Hey Blizz tech team, as a guy who makes a living out of developing for Apple platforms, that is my feeling on the situation: the problem seems to be related to how the rendering system deals with retina since I noticed other visual bugs as well, like the dust indicator on the gallery getting huge when I disenchant something.
It seems like things are drawn on an huge scale (because of the super high pixel density) and then downscaled, which is not necessary and really costly at render time.
If the game is made on native platform, and render through a Metal layer, you can adjust the size of the layer beforehand (at startup time) which would save a ton of processing.
Oh man, this is gonna up my battlegrounds so much not having my computer lag to sh*t when doing big turns. thank you!
