Just pulled Zuramat’s Prison

pulled this and was wowed at first, I enjoyed the lore/character from wow but second is this a new card? why have I never seen anyone play it and its neutral!!

first thing I do is jank a deck just for fun to see how it works

ah! so its slow really slow, like the game is over before you ever get to the deathrattle

but support cards exist to reopen the location. so maybe it’s designed to be run with support I add them! also add Deios to make the deathrattles and end of turns go twice because you really can easily play them this!

play like 2 games without making it open, 3rd game I manage it and with double deathrattles / double end of turns!

it’s terrible its just sooo bad I don’t think it’s going to see competitive play in it’s current state,

not only is it slow Zuramat only ever casts a random one of the cards you discarded, so if you discard a “two of” there is a 33% chance you get the 2nd thing which makes it completely unreliable for actual combo decks.

its terrible because its slow, a huge cost to sacrifice 3 cards NOW and he dosn’t even cast all 3 end of turn when summoned? (it seems like) on summon he will just randomly cast a pre-randomly chosen one of them at the end of every turn.

it’s terrible because it needs 5 mana and can’t active till turn 9 by which time the game is likely over?

feels like it could use a buff? there are far more egregious mana cheaters out there?

did I get the wrong idea? does this card suck big time?

It’s not great, that’s for sure.

It’s a card that for sure did something else and in their internal testing they discovered it was too powerful so it got changed to something useless.

I feel like once Zuramat hit the board it had a DR effect based on the cards you destroyed with it. They must have discovered some combo with it and broke the game.

I was trying to make it work but

  1. any slow control like deck I make is instantly ruined by Azalina
  2. some of my ideas ended up being a worse slower Ursol
  3. did I mention priest sucks the fun out of slow decks?

The card makes no sense from a design perspective. There is zero payoff for finishing the location. Even in a control deck where you put some activator cards into it it’s too slow and cumbersome. Not to mention it’s getting removed the minute it pops out of the location.

This card would only have use in discard warlock, which is a Wild deck

It’s way too slow for diacolock.
