Or at least most of the support and or enabling Always a Bigger Jormungar?? TBH it seems missing AABJ in the nerfs (changing to not hit face as would be consistent with all the incoming nerfs) is an oversight for the record books, if its not rotating.
If not rotating the release of their next set will be an absolute disaster.
Just for reference grunter hunter hit rank 1 today, and with the coming nerfs not a single card in the grunter hunter list is being hit, which means its as competitive if not more competitive than every deck in the meta currently. Based on the spray-and-pray approach in the incoming nerfs, I think that means grunter hutner would be miles ahead of anything in the new meta.
I haven’t watched any streams, but I think that’s the weaker play.
A turn 6 big beast that messes up your board? That’s Mister Mukla. He doesn’t hit face but there’s the milling and superior base stats. And we’ll be in a meta without the legendary beast res spell, so whatever single target removal dealt with mukla can work on plush and we know they shouldn’t come back.
I think it’d be scarier if hunter keeps plush in hand and keep buffing it, while rest of the deck wears you down towards lethal range. And what is lethal range shrinks the more he imbues.
Mukla isn’t erasing your board though, it’s dropping a 10/10 that can’t hit face and hits only 1 minion and losing health
Plush comes down for 6 as a 9/6, clears your ENTIRE board (most people don’t have a 8 attack minion on 6 aside from a few things here and there) and hits your face for 9.
Plus, Mukla rotates so really this comparison doesn’t matter.
…nor does it erase the hunter’s own board. Plush does (not that a hunter rushing for turn 6 Plush will have much board, so that 9 damage is unlikely to be lethal). Unless the hunter is really behind, Mukla will help his board kill off your board, or at least set it up such that whatever board you had left will have a hard time dealing with his Mukla + his board (like say, he setup taunts)
Almost everyone can have single target removals. The 9 to the face hurts, but it’s unlikely to be lethal (if it is, you probably lost way before plush dropped)
Not the point. The point is we’ve seen “big thing janked out early” before, and removals from hand is often the answer. If your deck is super dependent on having a board and you get screwed, well that’s more on your deck (guess you can’t play your main class pally :p)
You can check rarran’s latest video on emerald dream. He showcased a game with this hunter combo and oh boy… it really seems consistent enough for me to be scared of it.
That deck was oppressed of its max potential this meta. The rats and vipers could lethal the hunter by pulling the grunt mid-game or end-game. If you had a meta after rotation without those tutors it would probably be even +10% win rate.
Uh Grunter is rotating all. It’s right there in the rotation list. It was to be considered part of the 10 year anniversary stuff that was only staying for one year.
