Imagine if you could actually talk to your opponent

So I find it actually amusing how people are so toxic in this game. I beat a person in a match and I added them as a friend and I said “Thanks for the match it was fun” and he say’s “Enjoy your ban coward” and then defriends me lol… okay.

I just don’t understand why so many people are so cranky in this game. Like if you’re that bitter, play sponge bob or something, something that will put your a better mindset where you can have fun and actually be friendly to your opponent rather than RIP off their head cuz you’re bitter you lost.

Tbf, every game gets people tilted when they put enough effort into it. Like, Xbox Live smack talk is a meme since forever. Some people just get really attached, and I dunno maybe they have nothing else in their life. The world is full of sad, angry people who use the distance of the virtual world to attack people ‘for free’. Just screenshot, report them and move on.

Yes understand the tilt done ppl can have. I get it sometimes too and have to tell myself it’s just a game and no one cares what rank you are.

It’s like going to a casino where everyone wins, even if you lose. Losers get xp too.

I wonder if people would be friendlier in hearthstone if they created a way to form groups of some kind. Maybe make it easier for conversation somehow.

I understand that a large number of players have nothing kind to say after a match (or during for that matter), but they could create a way to have an actual conversation with somebody (or a group) who are online “friends” maybe it would be slightly less toxic.

I’ve had good experiences with that sort of thing in other games. The current method of chat is too clunky.

You have no control in this game at all. The game is pure BS RNG … it tilts people. Sadly people still pay money for this and play it… lol

I would actually love to be able to talk to my opponent haha.
My favourite thing in competitive games are the raging moments. This is a big part of why I play league of legends, this is a big part of why I play hearthstone. Me and my friends always laugh hard when we see one, and it gets even better when it starts to rage in his native language like anyone could understand him.
Call me childish, I don’t care, this is my way of seeing it like “it’s just game”. Every time I see a “recent opponent wants to be your friend” I insta accept, waiting to see how much of an animal can someone be. And this amusement would get even better if people could write through the game.
Now I know I’m a minority on that concept and people actually find it annoying and bs when someone rages and flames. Still tho, hope some day people could write through the game haha.

online and pvp
theres your answer.

its an insanely overused game type.
about 99 percent of games are online and pvp now or will be in 2 days.

it’s the poorest excuse for making subpar games ‘fun’ if you make them online and pvp.
lazy game devs.
its like they took a monk from AoE 1 and made it chant at a game to convert it to pvp and online. that’s basically what’s happening to games now. its so fad just like black rims on trucks people are starving for individuality but when they follow the trend they don’t accomplish being unique bc it’s already popular.

in the old days games didnt have to be online pvp to be straight amazing.
examples zelda, diablo 1 and 2. see 3 ditched the game and made it pve in groups bc they couldnt make a good diablo normally. 1 and 2 you don’t need a group or pvp to have fun, although pvp in d2 is pretty fun for a bit, then the actual game is always good.

online pvp you’re going to get trash talking always forever, its a secondary reason to avoid online pvp games in the future.

I do that occasionally with people on my friends list. It was fun, but we weren’t playing for rank. If they let you talk to random opponents, they’d have to limit the number of messages per turn. Otherwise people might spam something annoying during the opponent’s turn and most of their own turns.

Anonymity, it rewards bad behaviour with no consequences.

Let´s be fair here, it all depends on the manner of your win. I am pretty sure the whole story has more to it.

People get emotionally invested into competition, doesnt matter if its the football world cup or a match in Hearthstone. We have a wide variety of bad losers, bad winners and good loser, good winners. That shouldnt be a surprise anymore.

There are already too many snowflakes who are afraid of simple emotes. If they get triggered by emotes, just imagine what chatboxes would do to their psyche.

I’m all for a chatboxes and it would be fun to chat with a opponent and be social on a game. Give the easily triggered snowflakes a option to turn off the chatbox and problem solved.

Blizzard treats us like a bunch of kids and dont allow us to talk. Even in Roblox games played by small children (piggy as one example), the kids can chat during the game (although most of it is funny and cute gibber).

It would be nice for example when i start the game to tell the opponent that I am just doing my xxx achievement and dont take me too seriously and he can have a free win.

I’d say it’s the exact opposite.

Blizz is the father who throws his kids in a room then goes back to watching football in his underwear with a beer. Ignores any trouble that happens and tell the children to deal with it themselves.

It’s all about minimizing how much customer support they need to have.

I got nothing nice say to mage/priest players 90% the time so best we don’t

edit: 10% is complements on how much better legendary cards on average are

You can’t blame the players. That’s how the cards are designed. But I feel you. Blizzard designed mage zero mana cost spells and priests annoying cards in such a way that their opponents will not feel that the game is fun at all.

I don’t blame players for the class I annoyed they playing it (know you mess up just sight of class make me mad even if they not running free spells)

side note: I respect you

Many people find this game unfair. And they should, because it is*. As a result, because of Hearthstone’s rigged gameplay, you don’t find the more cohesive friendly community here as you do in other games. It’s a sad state of affairs, but there’s only one game company who can solve it, and they’ve chosen not to.

Haha I understand. I had difficulty with a couple of classes myself. Cant get through to the wall of priests and druids, and mage is proving tough too bro.

And the respect is mutual. But I still can’t post links.
