How do people get such luck on Arena?

How the heck do people get such luck constantly on deck picks for Arena play? I swear I constantly get a jumble of crap cards that barely work together. Meanwhile people pull magic after magic out of their butts and sometimes even have decks that could rival regular meta game-play. It makes absolutely no sense at all.

They’re called barcode decks/accounts

If you’re talking about underground arena, at any point in your run can get matched against players who got to redraft twice already.

That’s a good question, since a lot of drafts offer a lot of junk in the current meta, which means deck quality varies tremendously in the current meta, regardless of skill at drafting, and yet you can face Warlock four or more times in a row.

It’s clear that barcode accounts (bought accounts that come with bot-farmed gold) with a super-draft or god-draft inflate the number of times that you encounter best two classes.

The so-called “barcode jail” has done little to address this problem:

The same way they do in Standard. This game has absolutely nothing to do with strategy, intelligence, etc.

You can play for an hour and not see a single legitimate game. Five games in a row, your opponent will “discover” the only legendary in the game that can save them, or draw cards so perfectly timed they may as well have flipped over the deck and hand picked them. The player is totally irrelevant as long as they have elementary intelligence. The delusional then hide when they know they’re gonna be called out

There’s a third party program that tells you when cards have synergy so people can pick cards that go well together which can make it seem like they got lucky. It’s not cheating but its a bit cheesy at least.

The Arena represents the ultimate example of covert game manipulation, algorithms, and “win normalization” systems. Teams of psychologists at Blizzard are studying how to absorb players’ money and attention in a system similar to a slot machine. Your opponents can be diverse: people who open accounts in quick succession until they find perfect decks by exploiting the ability to enter any email address, bots directly from Blizzard, users who spend a lot and need to be given good RNG to give them the illusion of achieving something so they can spend even more. Of course, you never know who’s ahead of you. I urge you to continue reporting what happens to you in the Arena to discourage people from playing HS.

Similarly, people are probably just retiring decks that are bad. Bad draft? Concede and go again.

Its a similar result to barcode decks tbh.

My opponent RNG’s is incredibly lucky and in many cases they always have a powerful decks which I can’t counter in general.
I’ve played Arena since this mode was available but what is already happening is basically cheating as it goes far beyond statistical probability.
Arena is totally broken.

What you see is wanted by Blizzard, your RNG is worse because Blizzard has established that this is how it should be, maybe you have too much gold accumulated, or your opponent spends much more money than you, or it could be a “non-human” opponent controlled by Blizzard itself, do you have any idea how much money they would earn by killing opponents using bots?

Sad to think but possibly true.

im more sceptic about how much luck my opponents in arena have with discovery or summon random minion. It happens so often around 20 times as often as it happens for me in any way.

tbh wish for old arena or more duels (because duels is still best). The new arena costs me more and its 95% frustration. Just for saying in around 100 times i spended a ticket i won one time 6 one time 5 and the rest 0 win. Why i waste money like this and even feel like blizzard is reaching their goal :stuck_out_tongue:

The arena represents the apotheosis of Blizzard’s psychomental control system; nothing you see is accidental. The draft isn’t, the matchmaking isn’t, and the draws during the game aren’t either. Remember that Blizzard has never claimed that what happens in the game is completely random. Your account is tracked from the moment you create it, and it identifies the best way to make you spend money. The arena stimulates many things in you that are present in the human mind, like the gambling typical of slot machines. To Blizzard, you are a “wallet to be squeezed”; it doesn’t matter if you get angry, feel frustrated, or don’t have fun, as long as you spend. Essentially, once upon a time, video games were created to entertain and engage with appropriate challenges; today, it’s a system to manipulate the minds of users, often very young, trapping them in a system they can’t escape and in which they spend incredible amounts of money. The arena is all of this, perfected. I, for

Duels was awesome!

I will admit that I like the re-drafts of 5 cards after a loss, but everything else about the current Arena is insufferable:

1). Crowds favor is such a high roll gambling reward that it should be illegal.
2). The buckets and class balance are so terrible and high roll.
3). The economy for the underground is so much worse than the old arena system. The Arena with only a 2-loss elimination system and horrible gold economy is even worse than the Underground.
4). The so-called barcode jail seems to be nonexistent as a solution to the abundance of barcoders in the Underground, who are playing super-drafts.

Whoever is responsible for this mess needs to be let go for transforming Arena into such a garbage mode—this includes the leadership who has overseen the changes. Frankly, arena now feels nearly bad to play as what duels felt like before the canned the mode.

read this: Blizzard is a criminal corporation, as evidenced by the ongoing investigations into all sorts of issues over the years. What is Hearthstone? The product of a criminal corporation that will sooner or later close offices, lay off workers, and perhaps even dismantle every single game (much to my delight, I might add).

Yea, game’s massively rigged.

In fact, the Arena is illegal, especially because it encourages gambling among users who are often underage. Studies show that at least 60% of Hearthstone users are minors who lie about their age when they register. Powerful authorities are investigating, looking for a loophole to take Blizzard to court once again.

Forget about the arena, it’s like a ditch full of the worst slime that can come out of both Blizzard and us users. We all play with disposable accounts. At least 50% of users use accounts that they can discard as soon as they run out of gold. Of course, to avoid ending up in the pools that stupidblizzard creates, you need to do something, or you’ll find people who pay exorbitant amounts of money to find the perfect deck. Those who play casually in the arena only waste money and time.

Since you seem to be admitting that you are a barcoder, I would love to know more details about what’s involved in buying and using barcode accounts. Not that I ever would do that, but I am quite curios. I have waiting years to hear a barcode’s perspective on what they do.
