Hearthstone not updating on brand new iphone

Hello friends. I just purchased a new iPhone 16 pro max today and when I went to launch hearthstone I get an error message, “Closed! Hearthstone has been updated! Please download the latest version.” I go to the app store and everything is updated. Still get the same error message. I deleted hearthstone, reinstalled, still get same error. I tried on my roommates iPhone 13 and it worked perfectly. Please help.

I’ve had the same problem with the iPad version of Hearthstone, for years.

For. Years.

Nothing I’ve tried has resolved the problem. Including, like you, a completely fresh install on a brand new device.

Hearthstone Support has been entirely unhelpful. Their answer progression is:

  1. Install the updated version of the game.
  2. Check the support forums.
  3. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

The support forums, as you’ve probably discovered, have many people experiencing this problem, but not a lot of people fixing this problem.
