At first, The game crashes either when starting a search for ranked games, or when starting to build an arena deck. Then it happens every time I try to open hearthstone, immediately.
What device are you on?
Try clearing the cache for the application. You could also uninstall and reinstall.
I’m on an iPhone xr, so all I can do is uninstall and reinstall from the App Store and the same thing happens. I can play Pokémon champions on this phone with no problem, but a 13 plus game crashes
Ah. You’re in a very old and unsupported phone model. Not even Apple supports it anymore with new OS upgrades. Unfortunately there’s probably nothing you can do to do to fix the problem outside of upgrading your phone.
As a mobile dev myself (not a Hearthstone dev, though) I can say it’s likely that the new version is doing something at startup which works for newer versions of the phone and/or operating system but doesn’t on old ones. I doubt they’ll fix it since the phone isn’t officially supported anymore.
Sorry, mate.
this is a flat-out embarrassing copout bullcrap excuse for poor coding
I can safely say you are not a developer. ![]()
You have no reason to assume who or what I am, frankly.
This is a forum for technical support. It is for users/clients seeking resolution from the dev support team.
Are you a member of said team? If so, post in an official capacity. If not, it’s time you stopped trying to act as liaison.
This is a legitimate tech issue relating to an update suddenly breaking the game for multiple clients on the forum, relatively indicative of widespread crashing.
Your opinions are noted and no longer serve further utility in this discussion, as it is a forum designed specifically to seek resolution on technical support.
Thanks and have a great day.
Your phone is not supported for this game. What sort of tech support do you think is going to change that?
take the stick out yer butt they gave you the best advice you would have to pay for from a store jus admit yer cheap and wont buy a new phone sheesh
Further irrelevant comments and harassment about a device not being supported when the issue at hand is clearly a sudden failure of the mobile app to function using the SAME REQUIREMENTS that it previously had to now suddenly crash upon opening the app will be met with appropriate response via moderation.
It’s the same requirements that your device didn’t meet before. You got lucky. Now you’re not. It sucks, but that’s what life is like when gaming on old tech.
yep thats why they push you to upgrade every 3 yrs or so just to avoid these things from happening but some people just seem to refuse technology lol or at least seem to ignore common sense and facts when they are provided
It’s not necessarily refusing new tech. This person might not be able to afford new tech. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with that, especially if (like me) they live somewhere where wages have gone up at a much slower rate than expenses.
But insisting unsupported tech be supported is definitely a psychological problem. Albeit probably a fairly common one given how the online culture has driven an entitlement mindset across many cultures.
Fascinating use of your time to reiterate that an older device isn’t supported, but let’s refrain from personal attacks, children. A little maturity is warranted.
The update breaking the way it did, considering nothing was added to the client side by the mini-expac in terms of memory usage, clearly indicates that the issue is more complicated than what device is being used.
It isn’t rocket science to determine, based on the long history of mobile releases with game-breaking bugs across several compatible devices, that this is another instance of poor mobile app optimization on iOS.
People regularly complain about the poor memory and CPU usage on PC.
It’s time for Blizzard to put on their big boy pants and start working on improving the mobile app. If an iPhone 16 user is facing the same difficulties, your entire misuse of this thread is embarrassingly irrelevant.
And I can afford a new phone just fine, you condescending clown, but I have no interest in wasting my money on technology I already own in another capacity.
And yet there you are with a game which doesn’t work on your unsupported phone. Interesting, ain’t it? ![]()

You are so beyond out of line it really isn’t funny. I play the game mainly on PC and like to play it on my phone when I’m in transit.
The problem is encountered not only by myself but already several others with compatible devices here. The issue is not coherent with a memory dump crash.
Now seriously go get lost, you embarrassing insult to the HS community.
Curious… Did you write that message on your unsupported phone or PC?
your phone is too old you need a new one why cant you understand that? they arent gonna go back and do what it takes to make yer phone work because they dont go backwards buck it up go to yer phone company and ask for a deal to upgrade and if u dont wanna spend money than stop whining
LOL you gettem ill cheer u on, this whole thing proves one thing tho god loves stupid people specially the ones who think they can run the world on 20 yr old phones i know not 20 but you get the idea, it also seems u hit a nerve
They’ve started or joined multiple threads about it, even. Lol
It’s true that people with supported phones are seeing similar crashes. Who knows, maybe this strange paeudo-Luddite will get lucky and the fix for those also makes his grandpa’s old phone work again for a few months. ![]()
