Hearthstone is complete crap now

Nah, seems fine to me…

Aleco is from Runeterra and he ruined Runeterra in exactly the same way as edwin patch

Yeah, I tried getting back into standard after a long hiatus from the mode, and man, was I shocked at how little agency players have. As soon as I match against a Druid, I just concede now, as I know it’s just going to be the OTK Infinite Armor + Brann + Sire Denathrius combo that I can’t do anything about. This combined with the P2W Battlegrounds season pass had made me seriously reconsider getting back into the game. I just don’t get how one studio can screw up this badly, but then again, what else can I really expect from modern Blizzard?

The thing is, you gotta build your deck around drawing your wincondition with higher chance. Many area clears. More balance, tempo, low minions, high value, tech. Multiple winconditions. I just made a reno control DH with very limited cards and a Moonfang in deck and got to dia5 with ease, because it was balanced. I regularly beat secret mages, totem shamans, big priests, pirate rogues, pirate warriors, mill druids ect. with it with ease.

It also means if you don’t do the above you are liable to lose. Which is sad, but just the way it is rn.

only those who copy nose to mouth are disgusting.

I’m sorry to hear that you’re disgusted by yourself. You’re probably not as terrible a person as you think. Just look in the mirror, and say to yourself, “I’m good enough, I’m smart enough, and doggone it, people like me.”

RIP BILL IZARDDD this whole company makes me sick

It is not fail design. This is MONEY DESIGN… short-term maximum profit, but the flood is upon us

Everything you’ve said is accurate. Hearthstone as a concept could be a well balanced game. You could get rid of all of the broken OTK nonsense cards, raise the initial life total to a number like 50, and you would have a very high level strategic game. You could even implement an ELO system to reduce the grinding and reward higher win rate, which frankly is the best measure of skill anyway.

But in doing this, 99.99 percent of the players, who simply netdeck and look to play 5 minute games OVER and OVER and OVER again, would leave, and Blizzard would lose all the money they so desire.

In the end, while hearthstone as a concept is pretty beautiful, the design team has chosen to build a game for profit, and not a game for the sake of good and fair and challenging gameplay.

This is their choice. And I am quite certain that there are and have always been game developer meetings, where they discuss this. I would say that it is sad, but it’s just capitalism. Money isn’t sad, it’s just money. People play games where they can cycle broken cards quickly to get to a win condition, get their dopamine response, and repeat. It’s basically no different than a casino.

So again, you’re right, and hearthstone has always had the ability to become something better than what it is, but Blizzard is not a company that values integrity, it values money.

Sounds like you’re being a dick.

Hs:ngresult db error:303:0 reporting in.

I would love to be in a position where I feel pressured to spend $$$ and pay to win!

These dayum worldwide sprites causing a Hs:ngresult db error:303:0 just don’t want my, or my worldwide fellow spenders’ money!

As someone who plays Arena a ton, this is how Arena is now! Building a deck requires strategy sure, then its just up to drawing those OP cards or discovering some OP card. Every game feels like at any moment the opponent might have some card that wipes you and does 20 damage the next two turns to face. It’s not fun. Maybe if health was raised to give time to come back and counter OP cards, but it seems like devs just want ultra fast games. Long back and forth games seem to be dead. And ive never seen arena in such a broken state.

I just started back after several years and just came to the same realization that the game is broken, hence I’m reading this post. Some of these decks might as well play themselves. I’m just watching them execute combo after combo. I wish I hadn’t invested time into the game to restart. Very disappointed, Blizzard.

Yes, the game is broken… aggro is insanely fast and strong, control is unlimited and stupid OTK is spreading like a plague… These developers are killed the game for sure… I hope the next ones will make it resurrected after the card rotation of next year… This is the only hope will still may have left… THESE developers have no idea what to do with this game anymore… Thats for sure… They are just proving it again and again by making mistakes after mistakes…

Robbert Kotick with his greed that killed the game and the blizzard company, look forward to January 2024 (he will no longer be here).
