In the recent battlegrounds game I played, I bought one Wannabe Gargoyle and used the Tavern spell “Eyes of the Earth Mother” to make it golden. However, in both battles it died, it reborns with only 2 health instead of the full health in the description.
The base card only has 2 health naturally.
Did it have permanent health buffs? I don’t believe temporary buffs are retained when a minion is reborn.
Here is the card description for Golden Wannabe Gargoyle:
This is Reborn with full Attack and Health.
Of course you can argue what the meaning of full is, but we all know this minion does not reborn with its original attack (which is 18) for the golden card, it reborns with the buffed attack, which is the same as the non-golden one. So of course, it should reborn with the full buffed health according to the description and logic.
Were those buffs temporary (acquired during combat) or permanent (acquired in the lobby)?
Also, the base Reborn ability specifically says “resurrects with 1 health”, but it does not say anything about attack. So it might not be useful to compare the reborn behavior of attack vs health.
I’m not even sure what “reborn with full attack” means, because that is the default behavior anyway.
Acquired in the lobby for sure. If you do not know what “reborn with full attack” means, then you for sure do not play this card in the battlegrounds. It is very clear and widely known to the battlegrounds players that this card reborns with the full buffed attack acquired in the lobby stage.
For usual minion without “reborn with full attack”, it only reborns with the non-buffed attack, which is the default attack value of the card, not the buffed one!
Fair enough – I don’t play a lot of Battlegrounds.
Hopefully someone has an answer for you.
