Anyone have any recommendations for a budget friendly laptop to play hearthstone comfortably? been trying to look thru last years clearance models but I have never owned a gaming laptop only desktop for WoW 10 years ago.. Thanks

I’m very interested in hearing the answer to this as well. I would be curious how people feel on PC vs. Mac for Hearthstone.

My ancient Microsoft Surface seems to be straining!

just make sure it has a dedicated gpu and you’re fine tbh, gaming laptop isn’t gonna do much for you compared to desktop but hearthstone is lightweight, smt like surface is lol bc integrated gpu. laptop deals r**dit page should have you well covered.

As said, make sure it has a dedicated GPU so it can play most games, including Hearthstone.

I bought an ASUS TUF A15 back in 2022 for AUD $1400 and it’s my daily driver for gaming, streaming, video editing, etc. There’s probably an updated version of that now.

Just don’t go too budget and regret it when you can’t play your games.

The forum telepaths, perhaps, who know where you live?

Oh, and also — what’s your budget.

People buy gaming laptops for mobility or portability, as well as more compact sizes, not better value or performance.

:joy: You must be joking.

Even my gaming RTX 4060 (laptop) is feeling some stress from HS — more than from some older actual video games, perhaps.

Not all discrete GPUs are equal, likely, not all intergated ones are basic, besides, it very much depends on which games you want to play.

If it’s just HS, I wouldn’t bother with graphics, which are often ugly and low-quality even on high settings anyway, more or less anything would do, including some ordinary integrated GPUs.

PS

Speaking of the aforementioned issue: here comes the “Everyone lives in 'Murica” guy, is that it?

PPS So, to sum up, the three questions I’d put forth are: where does the author live (for some tips about the local market, perhaps), what’s the budget and what other games does (s)he intend to play on a gaming laptop or what other tasks to do?

Besides, there are other matters, such as what the desired screen size is and so on.

i’m running on a 3060 rn while i’m running ~10 containers and 100 chrome windows you’re doing something fundamentally wrong with your computer.

also runs fine on a surface pro 6 if it’s the only thing you’re running, iGPU from 8 years ago.

if you’re outside of america and have a decent budget, current recommendation is asus zephyrus g15, that’s really outside the scope of this forum though isn’t it?

trollers gonna troll, gl with the fish.

(edit: you’re literally trying to troll this person from actual advice, which is dedicated GPU > internal GPU 99.993% of the time)

(edit edit: you successfully trolled me into losing my casual game give yourself a pat on the back that’s the kind of person you are, grats)

Oh, lookee, an internet guru lecturing somebody.

 And this person speaks of something ‘fundamentally wrong’ on a computer.

I could point out another piece of unwanted software, though, albeit less malicious, perhaps, i.e. just bloatware, not spyware etc: it’s called HS.

No. When speaking of a ‘budget purchase’, it’s more or less a starting point for a conversation.

Error margin and how it is calculated? :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Oh, and yeah, that’s some advice — especially for just playing HS.

Btw, dGPUs are mostly for dedicated gamers or certain tasks — as far as I remember some reports with data, the vast majority of PCs out there (both stationary and mobile, I think) run on iGPUs just fine, of course. PS There’s also been this recent hype, with some companies actively pushing so-called ‘AI’ toys, bells and whistles on every machine, hence all those NPUs, GPUs and such even for ordinary consumers, but frankly, it’s not really needed for most cases.

I’d be surprised how the bulk of people here compensate for their cluelessness with excessive self-confidence and arrogance, but… I wasn’t born yesterday, it’s nothing new.

Yeah, the whole world, including all the Sparky Elves in it, revolves around you solely and does nothing but, say, scheme in order to make you lose your game. :joy:

I’ve been writing quite a bit about big babies with such a self-centred worldview (can’t be bothered to dig it up this time, though), but you know what, you deserve a special prize. :trophy: I nominate your for the biggest baby on these forums, or something like it.
