Free cards of Dream feel unfair to those who pre-order

I feel like Blizzard just spat in my face and everyone who pre-ordered the Ungoro and Emerald Dream expansions with these free cards.
I think free cards are a good thing, especially for those who return to the game and even for those who played the game. We all love free stuff.
The problem is that I, like some other players, pre-ordered the Emerald Dream and Ungoro expansions. I bought card packs, which can be considered a purchase. Did I just spend real money, so now Blizzard is just giving away all these cards for free?
And that’s not even the problem, in my opinion. The problem is the compensation for those who own these cards. Two signature legendary cards, Ysera and Umrba? I think it would be much fairer to compensate those who pre-ordered, for example, for each pre-order (Emerald Dream and Ungoro) they could receive 10 Cataclysm packs, or 1000 gold (less likely), or even donation currency (but that will never happen). So those who bought those cards could get a few cards from the new expansion.
It just feels unfair for those who pre-ordered. Maybe it’s just me, and maybe I should just shut up and say nothing, because I’m getting two legendary cards that I already own. But I think I should speak up.

This is temporary. The cards won’t stay in the collection.

“* Login between 3/10/2026 PDT and 36.0 Expansion Launch to gain temporary access to cards from Into the Emerald Dream and The Lost City of Un’Goro until 36.0 Expansion Launch.”

Oo, so am I understanding correctly that the 36.0 patch is the next thing after Cataclysm? So these cards are only for one Expansion?

It’s now 34.6 and launch of Through Timeways was a 34.0 Patch, Cataclysm launch is patch 35.0 and the next one after Cataclysm will be 36.0
so this cards will be free for full expansion

You are right. I thought we are already at 35.

Then it appears the cards will be there for the whole new expansion and will be removed later.

Hi everyone,

I guess the lack of cards in pools after rotation plus that not every player (maybe just a few) has the whole Into the Emerald Dream and The Lost City of UnGoro sets, together with the flavour of Deathwing’s Cataclysm (all join forces against it by all means possible) made them decide of giving this bonus to everyone.

What I don’t get is do players getting the new Umbra and Ysera cards through a new Achievement get them just until patch 36.0 or permanently ?

I mean, if those Ysera and Umbra new cards are permanent, wouldnt that be unfair to only give players that pre-ordered and paid for cards those cards ?

Anyway, good game everyone!

Hi, i think Ysera and Umbra are permanent. I’m sure they’re not unique to those who pre-ordered. You get them through achievement, if you have a large percentage of cards from the corresponding expansions. Regardless of whether you pre-ordered or not. If you just have a large number of Dream cards, you get Ysera through achievement, and Umbra if Ungoro.

And I think they can be obtained even after 36.0, through achievement, but I’m not sure.

To be fair if you’re giving actual money to this company you deserve to have your face spat in. That’s like buying COD or 2K then being upset it’s the same thing as the previous 90 iterations

Who cares.

Signed,

Someone who bought all of the golden sets for these expansions.
