It’s as good as the viable cards/decks supporting it. And I suppose whether the meta has things that might work against it.
Last expansion egg was still acceptable. Now it feels worse because rotation meant there’s less alternatives for egg users (e.g lock decks that don’t use egg aren’t exactly doing well) or interesting competition from non-egg decks.
By interesting competition I mean it isn’t a matter of just rushing down the lock before eggs crack. Think something like a priest happening to repackage the egg board, or in wild where there’s the starfish silence. Having taunt bypassing OTKs and alternative win conditions would also make match ups more interesting.
Its terrible design. Doesnt matter whether or not its good or not.
