Daily XP cap on new system?

With the introduction on the new reward system, I wonder if there is a daily cap, like we had 100g per day until now. I tried to find in any article possible posted so far, and nowhere has this been brought up!

what?

20 characters needed

We better not. It’s bogus even now with gold. And with xp being given even when you don’t win matches and in all modes now, it would likely be way too easy to hit said cap for the day. Considering the tavern pass purchase is mainly for the xp boost for the whole expansion; I’d say they would get a lot of backlash of pass holders regularly hit a daily cap.

Ya the new system seems geared to appeal to grinders and casuals

Seems you can only go up to level 150 for the expansion, then you can’t earn any more gold naturally. You’ll have to do well in Arena or paid duels. I don’t know about you, but I’m not happy about a level cap.

If you hit level 150 (assuming you even can without playing the game 24/7), you’ll earn 15000 gold. Somehow I doubt most people will be short on gold if they get that far.

No limit. Not yet. I saw that there will be a cap in the future, because they expect bots to ruin the system.

Here’s a tweet from one a game designer:

“Not yet, but planning to implement one to disincentivize bots. Goal is to create something almost no one ever runs into with natural play. Ran out of time for 19.0 to get something in, though.”

Have you actually sat down and calculated if this equals more or less gold than the previous system?

Off the top of my head it looks like tons more if you level all the way to 150 each cycle.

There’s a quick breakdown here: https://outof.cards/hearthstone/2200-the-rewards-track-how-long-to-get-to-level-50-644000-experience-required-to-get-to-level-150

(Quote from the article)
Experience & Rewards Table - Darkmoon Faire Rewards Track
Getting from level 50 to 150 gives you a total of 15,000 Gold!

My understanding is the ‘3 games wins 10 gold’ thing is gone and replaced by the reward track stuff.

If a player maxed the 100 gold a day on the previous system that’s still only 9000 gold per cycle so this new system is already potentially 6000 gold more.

edit my bad, calculated 3 month cycle instead of 4. Gold benefit is still roughly 2600 better though!

Well it seems you no longer get gold for a win. I just won a match and it did not count towards the 100 gold per day. Unless this is a glitch. But I’m guessing that it’s not.

It seems like the reward map is what you get for a month. So once you’ve achieved all the levels in that map, no more rewards until the next month. At least that is what it looks like to me unless I’m missing something.

But however if you factor in the dailies. quests on top of that… let me do a quick break day…

So say you did your got your daily cold for 100 per day
and all you dailies it would look like this

100 X 31 = 3100 or 3000 depending on the days in the month
60 Gold x 31 = 1800
Then there the 4 packs for tavern brawl.

Now that is what every player would get if they played the game without buying anything extra and it also does not take into account whatever rank you would have finished at for that particular month.

Are we keeping ranked rewards? I hope so and it seems like the chest is still there in the game so I’m going to assume we are. I hope we do.

I did a break down of what the new reward map gives us, and please correct me if I missed anything.

SO with the new system, I added everything up on the reward map and this is what we get. Now this reward map is in effect for the duration of a current expansion, and only resets once a new expansion is launched.

2 Legendary cards
1 rare card
16 Different packs
4200 Gold
2 tavern passes

So that’s what we get for reaching level 50. However, you get 150 Bonus gold per level above lvl 50 that caps at lvl 150. So that’s an additional 100 levels of bonus gold that is 15,000 gold if you actually reach level 150.

So on average there is a new expansion every 4 months, the comparison would look something like this

Old system with cumulative totals of 4 months (average length of expansion)

12, 400 Daily gold
16 Packs from weekly tavern brawls
7200 gold from dailies.

So from the looks of it, the new system is much better. The fact that you get 2 legendries per expansion is really nice, and hopefully that would be something they are going to continue per reward map each expansion.

If we look at strictly gold comparison, it is actually less gold by approximately 400. However, when you take into account the legendries and the 2 tavern pass, it does work out to be more rewards. I mean it cost 1600 dust to craft a legendary and when you dismantle a pack of cards you get on average 40 dust for doing that.

But that wasn’t the discussion.

We were comparing the 100 gold for daily wins vs the new level 50-150 system (after you have all the level 1-50 rewards).

The new system is potentially worth 6000 more gold (comparing level 50-150 vs old 100 gold per day system). Fact.

I appreciate you breaking all that stuff down but it simply wasn’t what I was referring to, sorry.

Daily xp Cap on New system.

I don’t see how you’re saying it’s 6000 More gold. Hence why I did the break down. But if you can show me that would be much apricated.

31 days in a month. 100 daily win gold max per day = 31*100= 3100

There are on average 4 months per expansion = 3100 * 4 = 12 400

100 daily gold per 4 months Max 12 400 + 7200 (gold from dialy quests) = 19 600 Gold max per 4 months.

Well if you acknowledge I was only talking about:

Old system: 100 gold per day x 3 month cycle = roughly 9000 gold.
New system: lvl 50-150 = 150 gold per level x 100 = 15000 gold.

15000 - 9000 = 6000 gold difference.

edit urgh…you edited after I replied. Will edit post after I re-read… :frowning:

I didn’t edit anything except for punctuation after I finalized my post. You’re making an assumption without taking ownership that you didn’t fully read my post.

But it comes down to when they launch the expansion. Scholomance came out on August 6th. The one before that was Ashes of Outlands which was released on the 7th of April, which was 4 months prior. Their launch dates are Generally 3 and a half to 4 months per release. Hence why I rounded up to 4 months.

My bad, I assumed 3 month cycles.

Wow, you’re still not getting it, I’ll repost again:

There is no daily quest gold after level 50. Only gold for levelling up (150 per level x 100 = 15000).

15000 - 12400 = 2600.

New system still gives more gold past level 50 vs old 100 gold per day.

I mean if you’re going to compare gold… you need to factor in all the possible way’s in which you get them.

If you’re going to just compare the 100 gold per day that’s one thing. But lets be honest, anyone who’s going to spend time to win 30 matches a day to get their 100 daily gold, most likely also takes advantage of the quests that gave them the gold from the dailies quest. All of my friends who play hearthstone do it, as do I. Hence why I did a comparison of all the gold. Otherwise you’re not making a true comparison of the gold reward system if you choose to leave out the gold from daily quests.

And really if someone doesn’t take advantage of the daily quest to get that gold, I would be inclined to say that there is probably a possibility that those players may not spend the time to reach to reach level 150.

SO by a gold by gold comparison, if the expansion comes out 4 months you gets less, not by much. looking at the history of when Hearthstone has launched their previous expansions, they are generally 4 months apart.

Which is exactly what I did and I am beyond surprised it took you this long to realize it considering I literally stated that was what I was doing. :upside_down_face:

That’s fine but that would be comparing the old daily quest system to the new reward track (level 1-50) which is NOT what I was doing. :upside_down_face:

The comparison that I"M making is the total amount of Gold you get in the old system vs the total amount of gold in the new system.

Gold is gold… no matter how you slice it.

I think this track is until April then it resets to a new one
