Could someone in the Blizzard team explain the logic behind this achievement? It’s ridiculous.
It reads: “Discard nothing with Chronoclaws 50 times”.
Chronoclaws is a Hunter/Warlock 4 mana 4/3 weapon that reads: “After your hero attacks, discard your highest Cost card.”
Probably the most uninteresting, boring, pointlessly grinding achievement ever made. 50 times! Change it asap, Blizz.
They’re telling you to attack with the weapon when your hand is empty
About a third of the achievements are just grindy things that you can’t optimize efficiently, that’s just one of them
“They’re telling you to attack with the weapon when your hand is empty”
Yeah, I know. It’s not even synergistic with the quest. What’s the point? And at what cost?
”About a third of the achievements are just grindy things that you can’t optimize efficiently, that’s just one of them”
For sure they are grindy, but at least they can usually be integrated in some kind of other archetype, or with regular cards. Or with new cards from the same set. Not this one. This one requires a cheap aggro deck, where you have to dump everything as fast as possible. There is a new quest in this set. Well, you can’t play it if you’re going for this specific achievement!
Who told you to play the quest ?
Yes, and ? Because a quest exist doesn’t mean everything revolves around it
The achievement of the Eternal Hold is anti-synergistic with almost every single minion released for demon hunter within the same expansion
On the contrary, the second hunter achievement is precisely aimed toward the same deck idea. If Pricse shot is the last card in your hand then it’s exactly in the center of your hand
Yeah, this one is especially grindy and obnoxious. I tried a few games but couldn’t pull off more than 1-2 per game. I’m not playing 50 games just for this one, and am refusing to attempt it.
You know who told me to play the quest.
All I’m asking is for a logic behind the damn thing, that’s it. “There isn’t one”. Ok, got it.
The logic is it’s an achievement for bypassing a card’s drawback, what’s hard to understand ? Achievements are almost never designed around entire decks
so like plat trophies ing ames
arent achivements supposed to be like that challenges you do for fun not to win games
yeah, ideally. That’s why “especially grindy and obnoxious” ones are not good.
I tend to prefer the ones where you can craft a smart deck and hit the win condition once after a couple of tries. I don’t mind the ones that take a little grinding, especially if there are ways to speed them up (duplicate the minion or spell and use it several times per game, trigger deathrattles, resurrect, etc.) I also like it if you can work on several different accomplishments at the same time. I don’t even mind a 20-30% win rate, if I’m futzing around but at least making progress somewhere.
This one’s the worst of everything. Lots of repeats. Requires precision play and a particular deck. Attempts to do anything except this one achievement get in the way of the achievement. It’s hard to do smart things to make it go faster. It’s easy to have a game where you don’t even get the opportunity to advance the quest. Playing for the quest almost guarantees a loss. It all adds up to slow, boring, not fun, effortful, just the worst* interpretation of a quest.
* (The ones that require a legendary I don’t have and don’t want to craft just for an achievement are equally bad, I would argue.)
Again, you’re the only one forcing the quest onto this achievement.
You’re willingly playing an anti-synergistic card toward that achievement.
Because cards are from the same expansion doesn’t mean they are meant to be played together.
For All Time has no synergy with Fragment of Nothing, it even kills it, yet you wouldn’t rant that it makes the Fragment of Nothing’s achievement hard to pull out.
It’d be cool if you could progress it in Casual, but nope, just have to hit a rank floor and build a deck specifically for it and just spam matches
No, I don’t mean a literal quest card, I mean the “quest” for the achievement. I know I scrambled the words, but I was using it metaphorically. You’re mixing me up with some other poster, who was maybe trying to also do a literal quest in parallel. Everything I said was just about the hoops you need to do to achieve the achievement.
Oh ok sorry, didn’t see through it
Well yes a lot of achievements can only be done if you stop carring about your winrate
That’s one of the points I’d too like them to be completeable in casual
I’ve started hunting achievements back in june last year, completed about 40% of the gameplay achievements (from 23% to 64%) and absolutely destroyed my MMR doing so (from 9-10 bonus starts back to 2)
The same I’d prefer them to be more complex than tedious but that’s just my personnal vision of it ![]()
yea, that sucks.
not sure what’s the fascination with all these cards games with rank mode. Alot of players just want to collect cards, gain rewards, and just relax, have fun, and not worry about what rank they are or leaderboards.
Well you can do just that
Because the rank system exists doesn’t mean you have to care about it
OP is absolutely correct here. This is one of the most insultingly bad achievements we’ve had in years. Anyone disagreeing is out of their mind or trolling.
No, the achievement is trolling. You have to have an empty hand when you attack, the weapon doesn’t have high durability so you need dozens of games to complete it, and it has to be done in ranked to get credit
