I think most people are lazy and don’t want to go late game. I played a Terran Shaman to Legend 335 EU this month and it’s pretty clear Priest protoss has nothing to be afraid of it because if it goes late game then it’s gg for it.
And it’s not that hard because it has tons of heals and tricks.
Yeah, once the motherships start offloading troops it’s usually easy to wrap things up. Between archons or carriers you usually find something potent.
But it can and does get run over early, especially if the sentries get silenced.
The instant value of amanthul and mothership is unmatched. I remember calling protoss priest a top deck in january, during the first days of the mini set and people were laughing here (we talked about it if you can recall).
Fast forward 1-2 months and it might be the best available deck in the correct hands. People were sleeping on it and still are, since it’s not even in the 5 most popular decks.
Ive always believed Protos priest was a good deck i think sometimes its just easier to get a good deck from hs replay for instance then to try and refine a deck that needs optimisation.
Me personaly i am a deckbuilder by nature because to that is the most fun part of any card exploration in the form of deckbuilding and trying new stuff.
Never be afraid to experiment if u lose a game its just you learning what your deck might need what cards need to be replaced.
