I am a long-time Hearthstone player who truly loves the game and has spent many years enjoying it. I’m writing to share some feedback that I know is also supported by a significant part of the veteran community.
Over time, the game has become increasingly casual-focused. While I understand the need to attract new players, many experienced players feel that the depth and strategic complexity have been reduced. We genuinely miss the times when resources were more limited, decision-making mattered more, and combo/control decks required careful planning and skill.
Additionally, the older art style and overall design felt more unique and crafted with great attention to detail. It gave the game a special identity that many of us still value and miss today.
If maintaining this level of complexity in the main game is not feasible from a business perspective, I would strongly encourage you to consider bringing back the “Classic” mode. It would allow long-time players to enjoy the version of Hearthstone they fell in love with.
Alternatively, if “Twist” mode cannot be consistently supported, having a stable Classic mode would be an excellent way to preserve the original gameplay experience and keep veteran players engaged.
I truly believe that supporting both new and experienced audiences is possible, and bringing back Classic could be a meaningful step in that direction.
