I’ve played Hearthstone for some years, and, to be honest, I don’t understand why there are emotes in this game. It is very rare to see them use in actual good sportsmanship. Much more often, they are used to troll opposing players when those players make a mistake or lose a game. I am sure Bliz did not intend this, but emotes in this game are built-in trolling.
It would not be an exaggeration on my part to say that nearly every time I forget to Squelch an opponent at the start of a game match, I end up regretting it.
If some people want these emotes to be a thing, then there should be a setting for them to do so. I was hoping to request that the rest of us get an option to simply ignore all emotes, with the Squelch setting being automatically activated on each and every match, until that setting is turned off. That would greatly reduce what the fanbase sees as toxicity in this game.
Having to squelch the opponent every single match is unnecessarily tedious. Squelch shouldn’t fall off after every single match. Mobile players don’t have the option of using a bot script to automatically squelch the opponent. Setting the language or music volume or screen resolution makes that setting fixed until the use chooses to change it. Squelch should work the same way. Furthermore, squelch also falls off if you get a phone call during the match, or a text, or get in an elevator. Just make it a “set it and forget it” toggle like every other UI option.
Are you trying to troll just to troll now? Why the hell would they DnD every single Hearthstone match. Video games are not more important than emergency phone calls to everyone.
This forum is filled with trolls, hearthstone itself feeds off the toxicity of it’s player base. Dev’s love it I bet they get paid extra to come up with ways to annoy the community for psych studies.
I value my time. 1 second lost is 1 second I will never get back. When a video game is given 1 second of my time it should also offer a CHALLENGE; challenge sharpens the mind and generally trains the player; 1 second of doing something mundane with no challenge is time lost.
Why are you opposed to a toggle for squelching rather than the current system where the squelch falls off after every single match and sometimes multiple times during the match? Updating the squelch feature to be a toggle would have absolutely zero impact on you.
