Currently, players in Belgium and some other country’s like the Netherlands are unable to purchase the battlegrounds season pass because it includes “battlegrounds Tokens” (the hero rerolls), which conflict with local gambling regulations. While i understand the need to comply with local laws, this has created a significant gameplay imbalance. As a Belgian player, I am restricted to only 2 hero choices at the start of a match, while other players in other regions can access 4. This is a direct competitive disadvantage that makes the game feel unfair to the Belgian community.
I would like to ask if there are any plans to implement a solution for this. Specifically:
- A “Pass Lite” for restricted regions: Would Blizzard consider offering a version of the season pass that removes the reroll tokens but keeps the 4-hero slot and cosmetics?
- Separate Purchase: Could the “4-hero choice”perk be sold as a standalone seasonal upgrade that does not involve any randomized or “reroll” mechanics?
I love battlegrounds and want to support the game, but the current situation makes it difficult to play competitively. We would love to have a way to access the full experience while respecting our local laws.
Is there any update on whether a regional fix is being developed?
