When I try opening the app on macOS Catalina, it gets to the gate welcome screen (before the big “Hearthstone” logo appears) then quits, and the Battle net Setup app is automatically launched. I then get error BLZBNTBT0000000A saying Battle net is already being used by another user account on this computer. But that’s not accurate because I’m the only user on this newly formatted computer.
If I open the Battle net app first, it updates the Agent for a little while, then I get BLZBNTBTS0000005D error, saying “We’re having trouble starting Battle net. Please try again. If the problem persists, try restarting your computer.”
Then, in either situation, when I click “Close” or quit the Battle net Setup app, I get a kernel panic and I have to cold reboot my iMac. (Youch!)
I realize this is a beta version of macOS, but hopefully you will get a chance to fix this bug before this new version of macOS hits the public.
Since it is in Beta, the application won’t be compatible as beta is intended to serve as a testing period for developers and users. The issue with Catalina and the Blizzard Application is due to the changes of only 64-bit applications being supported, while the Blizzard application is a 32-bit application. It will not work on the Mac OS Catalina (Beta), currently.
Catalina is still a few months away, being released this fall, as Technical Support we don’t have much information on the progress for the 64-bit only application issue, but we are aware of the upcoming changes and working on these changes! Hopefully, our developers will have more information on our forums or blog post soon.
Thanks for the report For now, it’s recommended to use the latest stable for MojaveOS or previous supported MacOS versions.
Okay, just giving you a heads up! Thanks!
Edit: is it possible to sign up to test out beta versions of Hearthstone? I’d be happy to help.
Anytime, Tavenn! Sorry for the delay on response. We do have beta testing available for the Blizzard application, if we may come out with one that works with Catalina in the future. It’s under Settings > Switch to Beta.
None for Hearthstone specifically, but keep an eye on our Beta Profile page for other beta testing options or if Hearthstone may be on there soon
