A few games back after a long hiatus and just wow the game feels like it’s fallen completely off the cliff at this point. I don’t think I made a single relevant decision in any of my games.
First game in standard, I basically needed to play a board wipe every turn from T4 onward to not die.
Second game battlegrounds, random as usual with excessive power creep on the stats buffs. Getting timed out of my turn on mobile due to animations taking my whole turn. Complete trash.
Played a game of wild, opponent mana burns me for my T4 and T5. In their OTK combo deck. You are supposed to be able to win on 3 mana now apparently.

They just refuse to address the community concerns.. they have “the data” they know better.

Yeah, fun. Problem is players say they’re playing for fun when really it’s for compensation, you get stuff for winning, the better you do the more you get, that’s why they get angry when they lose

The data says I stopped giving them money years ago, and seems like so did many others. So I have my doubts too.
They actually give you a full free deck when you haven’t played for 3+ months. Unfortunately, none of those decks can win post removal of rank based matchmaking. I’m thrown into high MMR games on day 1 despite having to read almost every card. Not fun to play a slot machine.

.. we play videogames for fun … no idea why people play games for any other reason
Pretty close to uninstall myself. Seems like they can’t handle more than a couple good deck types existing at any one time. Beyond that it’s just “random nonsense fun house”. There’s no deck building or room to play what you find fun. They may as well just delete all cards each expansion and give you 5 prescribed decks to play.

As I’ve been saying for a while, Blizzard has several solutions to silence all the complaints.
- Fire every programmer, forum moderator, toilet cleaner, janitor, secretary, and create a new company.
- Accept external audits by professional auditing firms that certify the absence of arbitrary manipulation of the RNG, matchmaking, Blizzard bots, or user bots, etc.
- Apologize to all its “followers” and users, admitting that they focused too much on profit, make amends, and try to improve in the future.
Without all this, I think Blizzard will be finished in a couple of years. Toilet paper will be worth much more.

Its bad man they dont know what they are doing.
Cry more, child. Play checkers instead. Based on you post, maybe tic-tac-toe would be more on your level!

uh this isnt a competitive game bud.. checkers is a step up to be honest. Its very tough to make a mistake in this game. =/

Nah, its a card game. Its only competitive for 100 players per server. Sorry, not you!
Sometime you lose games. Get over it…
Or rage more, either works, you wont get what you want with this dev team, so may as well just walk away.

Not raging lol. nothing i just typed out is raging its facts. everyone knows this. I just came back to check it out and its why most people dont play it anymore. Same reason why pvp in WoW went to downhill. But explaining myself to a moron wont help because you didnt even make sense with your reply to me? Maybe you meant to reply to someone else. Later big fella!~ good luck!

The Innkeeper is always available, and never scales with MMR. Or Mercenaries. Cariel, Tyrande and Xyrella can still take out Hogger in under 3 turns.
“A few games” when you probably left on a high note (decent MMR) means getteng trounced when walking into the first week of a new expansion, especially on a Friday night/ Saturday morning.
Take a breather, check out the new stuff on HearthPwn or another fansite, and go lose a few games with a better understanding of why. Or not. Despite all the negative threads, Blizz is making tons of money, and they don’t mind the attrition from part-time players wandering off. It’s the whales that bankroll the process, and Ahab drowned a long time ago.
If you want to be competitive, you’re starting at the bottom, but the only thing stopping you is you. If you came to have fun, don’t let the competition interfere with putting cards on the field. Some time with the Innkeeper will put your win/loss record back in balance. [Edit for clarification: playing against the Innkeeper DOES NOT affect your MMR, but it can make you feel better, and more comfortable with the newer cards.]
Solo adventures are available, as well as the weekly Tavern Brawl (occasional team play vs. a common enemy is still happening, though rare). And, as mentioned, Mercenaries provides a lot of content that doesn’t have to be a miserable grind.
There are lots of reasons to play the game, but the first one has to be “because I want to”.

I stuck around for a few weeks now and have to say that it really hasn’t gotten any better.
Wild is a complete joke still with no balancing provided. DH can drop 30+ power and double mana burn you before your turn 4. How exactly is this even a thing? I understand not every game can be won, but there have been far worse decks that I’ve had get nerfed into oblivion from Wild in the past.
Standard is even worse now where the power level is supposed to be lower. I’ve had minimal “success” building upon the “ladder ready” priest, which wasn’t even remotely ladder ready. The aggro decks are completely out of control to play anything other than Aggro or Anti-Aggro. Paladin is slamming 20+ power of divine shield minions by T5 even when getting their board interacted with.
Battlegrounds latency has been better, but there are entire groups of minions that are essentially unplayable on mobile. Pirates and Naga in particular can’t be played on mobile. You will time out of every turn before being able to play out your hand and gold. Really the only benefit of this game is playing on mobile. There are VASTLY superior offerings on PC.
I’m left with the conclusion that Hearthstone is a mediocre MOBILE only game for solely the battlegrounds mode.
The actual main hearthstone game is unplayable due to lack of any balancing of the cards, and an arbitrary MMR system that is still placing me in nearly unwinnable games despite nearly a month of a losing record.

Lets not forget arbitrary designers who have systematically destroyed the product to pamper their pet classes.

It’s more due to low standards of mobile games that I even consider it.
MTG Arena has good gameplay, but the UI is an absolute disaster. I will probably give that a try again.
I have my Slay the spire, Ascension, 7 wonders have some good gameplay as card games. So that’s my current rotation.
Would be cool if either Blizzard or Wizards of the Coast gets their shuff together though since they have way more releases.
