Too much work, to make a cosmetics system. Easier to just p2w.
Upping the $15 to $20 for the PLUS, this provides 1 of the 4(you can reroll each of your hero slots) rerolls a game for free increasing your 4 hero choices to 5 but still need to spend up to 75 cents per game(looks like its a bundle of 4 for $1) if you donât like those first 5 and need to look for the best choice of 8
The p2w comparison is even if a f2p can buy with gold they only have 2 heroes with a reroll each for 4 characters(still half but now its 4 less then P2W)
A question here that I didnt understand fullyâŚWill battlegrounds be like Arena ( that you need a tavern pass every time) or will it be free but the tokens are used for what heroes to choose from at the beginning?
no not every game
for battlegrounds every season has a new tavern pass(every three to four months) so if you buy the pass plus it will last a while
tavern pass($14.99USD) = 4 hero choice
tavern pass plus($19.99USD) = 5 hero choice
can reroll all heroes for up to 8 choices
tokens are 4 for $0.99USD but they said they will have âbundlesâ that include them as well
and if you dont want to reroll a hero and play like this?
The real question, that Blizzard needs to answer is are tokens a one time use? Can token be purchased for an advantage over free to play players? Like, Iâve played hearthstone for years, and battlegrounds was a nice change of pace when after purchasing a bunch of packs I get NOTHING, really common. To think battlegrounds might become pay to win since heroes are not balanced good, its depressing.
and to imagine that due to some heroesâ abilities, some of them already have advantage.
Not sure if you guys noticed, but not only are we getting tokens that are basically P2W theyâre also getting rid of the Strikes from the free pass. Instead you get 4 measly tokens where you wouldâve got the free strike. I canât condone these changes at all. Iâll probably stop playing altogether if you implement this change. Youâre not hurting for money, youâre just greedy.
Take my money but donât mess with game balance. This will erode the player base and ultimately hurt dev.
The battlepass works because it isnât in your face. Now every game all players will be reminded that they have a P2W choice; feels gross.
then you donât reroll, but that doesnât stop others from doing it.
yes one time use, why would you pay extra $5USD for tavern pass plus if you can buy 4 tokens for $0.99USD and never need more tokens and why would you pay $0.99 when the f2p tavern offers 8(if they didnât consume then youâd only ever need 4 EDIT// f2p only has 2 hero choices so youâd only need 2)
this is the cringe season
The games Iâve spent the most amount on are the ones that never forced me to. Iâve spent a total of 0 euros in Hearthstone for the hundreds of hours of playtime itâs given me! Iâve spent thousands in League over the years and itâs because I never felt I needed to in order to be on an equal footing. Therefore, for now, I will continue playing BGs for completely free and have a blast without paying this greedy company a dime XD
The Bazaar devs thank you for increasing their player base by doing this. Are your marketing team dumb? XD
Sadly I agree
However, I do believe that there is a profitable way to make the game more exciting. I think that a new currency can be part of that, but these tokens are useless
Thanks for telling me I need to find another game. I donât know if I want to play this one anymoreâŚ
Definitely been having a blast with The Bazaar, wait for open beta if you donât want to payâŚ
Any updates on using gold in the shop to buy literally any BG cosmetic?
Because so far it seems that youâre not planning on giving anything to the F2P players other than the few scraps from the new Battlepass I supposeâŚ
You guys really hate your F2P players huh?
âsorry guys, 99,9% of the content is for people with credit cardsâ
Is this an out of season April fools joke. This is the worst reroll system I have ever seen to be implemented it seems like the people who thought about it are just trying to insult us & just make us quit. Im done with this game if that is what the future monetization is looking like simply pathetic get a grip
I think people need to be realistic here. Nothing is truly F2P - if youâre not paying then someone else is.
Personally I always buy the battlepass and will probably buy the battlepass+ because if iâm sinking hours and hours into a game I think paying something to support it is worthwhile and fair.
In terms of the competative advantage - I would argue itâs hardly groundbreaking or gamebreaking (which it shouldnât be). The choice of heros IMO can compound the draw of a lucky tavern but therein is where the winning games lie - the tavern draws. - You can have the best heros available and will lose if your tavern RNG is against you.
I understand people who donât want to pay anything ever being annoyed but if you never even bought the old tavern pass for the 2 extra heros then why would you even care if someone else who did can re-roll a couple times⌠you were always at a âdisadvantageâ regardless - still one which is minimal.
My friend who never used to buy the pass would complain of this exact same thing with the original tavern pass as he never bought it and i always did⌠yet he would go on win streaks and myself on losing streaks (same MMR bracket). - I used to argue this countered his P2W point a bit as the proofs in the pudding right?
Ultimately thereâs so many more RNG aspects to the game and while getting a hero you like may be one of them, I still stand by the tavern RNG, attack order RNG etc. being far more impactful, relegating poor hero offerings to more of a âfeel badâ factor - hence why people feel so strongly about it as it feels like youâre going in the game to lose it from the off.
It still is a Game of Odds in the end, yes, but can you argue that if i roll 2 Dice and you roll 3 you have a better chance of getting the Highest Result? Sure i might have a Lucky streak but on a large samplesize you would win out more often.
Maybe your friend is just playing better than you but is held back by having worse odds?
The Biggest issue is that while the Tavernpass was a Once/3month Investment they now want you to drop Money on a Per Game basis.
