Add hotkeys already

Is it really that difficult to implement features like ending the turn with the spacebar or muting my opponent with an unused key?

How many years does this game have to lag behind others?

Do something genuinely useful for the game, for once.

so the interface has to mirror mobile devices and what hotkeys would be available to them to do such things? volume up and down already do those features, power button isnt a useful option either, neither is the home button… and not every device has extra buttons like camera or action and etc… the lack of hotkeys is because this game is designed uniformly to be the exact same no matter the device you play on, phone tablet pc mac or even a commodore 64.

How about just moving the mouse to the end of your turn doesn’t take a lot of energy to do it. :man_facepalming:

I miss cellphones with keyboards, that was a cool thing

That commodore can not even run the battle net app.

I don’t, and it wasn’t.

They miss their lives as young people, and those bad devices are triggers of memories. (I hated them)

Honestly I did enjoy my phone with the hidden keyboard underneath it. That tactile interface allowed me the only time in my life to not need to look at the keys to type anything, unlike with a normal keyboard on a pc where I do have to see what im trying to type and then look up to read what Ive typed once ive made it to the end of a thought. it was like a remnant of the old T9 texting patterns where you could go faster than the display could keep up so long as you knew the pattern for obtaining each character in your message. like a vestigial remnant of that tactile muscle memory with the physical keyboard on my old phone was something I find I miss these days. I cant replicate it with normal keyboard on a pc, never have been able to touch type. But I could on that old phone. I had GBA emulator installed on that old thing lol, I was always playing Pokemon Emerald on it, cant do that with these only touch screen rectangles we all got now… not without some extra peripheral to buy or severe compromises in order to play on a touch screen. I know my rectangle can run circles around the apps I was able to use from that old phone lol, that thing couldnt even use the web browser at the same time as taking a call lol. But there are certain uses, traits, or fringe cases where missing physical keyboards on phones isnt the worst concept to miss.

I dont have a modem hooked up to it, so yeah obviously it couldnt. Plus I bet the Blizzard Cartridges for it are overpriced just like StarCraft 64.

So you want to use two devices to play the game … A keyboard and a Mouse?

Can you explain why that is more convenient than using just the mouse? How is using two peripheral devices to play hearthstone more beneficial?

ever tried to chat with anyone on mobile version of this game? while playing a match? its absolutely better on a pc using a keyboard and mouse to be able to both play and chat. The screen real estate being at a premium on mobile devices, you dont get the luxury of chatting away and still seeing what your opponent is doing too. lol

So there is some scenarios that make sense for the peripherals just for QoL reasons as compared to how it works out on mobile platforms.

But adding more stuff is confusing. The game has to be playable with lizard brains for the stable of lizard people they have queuing into the game to rig your matchups.

Lizard people are stored in dens, not stables. What do you think they are, horse people?

me too, work texts are much easier to type on a real keyboard than swipe/electronic garbage.

bro just wants to return to the pager life its ok

I miss pen and quill too

I don’t think they’d need to. The two can easily coexist as separate features.

It’s not like the manual option to hover over your opponent’s face and mute them would be removed.

I think you misunderstand my point. Look at your average mobile device, list the mechanical buttons on them. Volume up and down, power, and some have a mechanical home button, and even fewer devices have anything else at all after all these. Meaning there would not be any such ability to give a mobile device a “hotkey” function. Because the same abilities are made equally available across all platforms for HS. Right Clicking on PC = Long Pressing on mobile devices for additional commands such as Squelch, Emoting, etc. The End Turn button is already made readily available and painfully simple to interact with by simply clicking it no matter what platform you choose to play on. All other abilities are actually already Hot-keyed on mobile as the Volume up and down adjust the volume regardless of device you play on, the power button is also the same hotkey regardless of device or platform, The only variation I’d say is the Home Button on mobile devices is the same as Alt+Tab on a PC, and depending on your mobile device it may function more like Alt+F4 than Alt+Tab.

As for the OP’s desire to Hotkey Squelching opponent, the volume adjustment buttons already exist. As does the right click squelch ability.

There is nothing left to Hotkey that isnt already taken care of by the existing options, as well as there is nothing mechanically left available to mobile devices to even be able to map out a hotkey option since the interface has to be uniform across all platforms.

As for their suggestion on spacebar ending their turn, spacebar is already hotkeyed for opening packs and if held down opening them in bulk. Ive no experience doing either on mobile so Im unaware of its equivalent on there. But literally the End Turn Button is right there to the right of the board where you just got done interacting with the board area and now you are done… id argue it takes more effort and time to stop using the mouse to then go reach for another key on the keyboard instead of just finishing the motion of your last action in a way that ends in you hitting the end turn button. I could see myself being sympathetic to an argument from an accessibility needs for certain folk point of view, but for the general playerbase? It just doesnt make any better sense to add a function that would make things go slower to end a turn by adding another key to use instead of just a slightest of slight flicks of the wrist and clicking end turn.
