It’s been a long time since I’ve come here to complain, so here I am!
I’ll try to keep things lighthearted, at least at the beginning, so that if anyone unfortunate enough to read what I write doesn’t fall asleep.
Ah, let’s start by saying that I’ve been a legend in wild format for about six months straight, and I recently achieved legend in standard too, a format I never used to play. I’m only saying this so that any readers who might want to say that I’m complaining because I don’t know how to play can avoid doing so, because I definitely play better than them.
Here is a list of problems, in no particular order:
The client is getting worse and worse. Years ago, I remember playing on the train on my way to work, and there was a tunnel section that lasted about five or six seconds. The client would reconnect with great ease.
Now, however, a message appears saying reconnecting then disappears and reappears with different words, then the screen starts flashing and reconnects. This causes you to lose an entire turn (and sometimes the game) when it goes well, while when it doesn’t go well, it just freezes.
Now, I can understand that Google changes Android’s APIs more often than they change their underwear and that it doesn’t make life easy for developers, but the fact that the reconnection message is displayed several times with different words makes me think that Blizzard is having the code written by artificial intelligence and then forgetting to delete the old parts.
The PC client is no better; when it reconnects at the end of the game, it closes on its own. Is there a reason for this, or is it just to annoy me? With all the money I give you, do you dislike me too?
When searching for the word “treant” within the collection, the filter results show all minions that have “all” as their type.
Any minion belonging to “all” types does not work with cards that, according to the text, interact with treants.
So why are they there?
Shakespeare asked himself the same question when he wrote to be (a type) or not to be (a type).
Make up your minds.
The weapon with 15 attack that reduces the opponent’s mana to 1, making it impossible for him to do anything?
I understand that the intention of whoever invented this sick mechanic was to give a big advantage to a player who manages to survive for several turns using 1/1 minions, and that might have made sense at first.
However, the sense gradually faded away with continuous introduction of cards that allow the player to draw whatever he wants right away and get endless copies of a minion (and I’m talking about the priest).
Is it an unbeatable deck?
Of course not, it’s quite annoying, but those who use a fast deck win.
The real problem is that now all wizard decks have a pig, a spell that copies it, filling the field, and another spell that destroys one opponent’s minion for each minion you have, leaving them without mana and unable to play ahead by trying to put out minions with taunt to parry the 15 attack blows in a game that has a total life of 30hp.
By the way, I’ve always complained here that 30 HP is not enough. Judging by how many people play the card that starts the game with 40 HP, it seems I was right.
And judging by how many use the minion that lets you choose one card from three options when building your deck, it seems I was also right when I said you needed a side deck.
If you want to pay me, that’s fine with me.
Decks that allow a player to win in a single turn by playing all the cards in the deck are wrong.
There is no debate about this, nor should there be.
There is no gameplay, no interaction between players, so it is wrong.
Matchmaking is outrageous, and you should be ashamed of yourselves.
Your desire to pair players who are winning with the counter to their deck only serves to anger and frustrate players so that, you hope, they will buy more cards.
There are entire threads from other users on this topic, so maybe you should go read them.
As I said at the beginning, I’ve been reaching legend for six months in a row without any effort.
How do I do it? By using your senseless matchmaking against you and, with two specific cards, I wipe out one of the counters in my deck, which you insist on making me play against.
Criticism in this regard should also be directed at players who insist on copying YouTubers’ decks and all play the same things. Here I am, after complaining for years that it was impossible to play invented decks, I’ve adapted to your way of playing. I no longer enjoy the game, but at least I give you the beatings you deserve for being incompetent. Of course, there’s always the fact that Blizzard makes the people angry, as I said before, so it’s not all your fault.
Anyway, “dear” Blizzard, I collect cards, I have them all. Could you add a line of code that lets those who have all the cards play against a random opponent? You know, trying to make me angry so I’ll buy more cards doesn’t work if I already have them all…
Battleground is going well, although my favorite hero hasn’t appeared in years, in the hope that I’ll pay for two extra choices.
I won’t.
But apart from that and the fact that it’s as poorly balanced as the rest of the game, everything’s fine.
Oh, I almost forgot, the number of legendary cards per pack is ridiculously low.
I understand that you’re not working for glory, so that’s fine, just lower it even more.
One thing worth mentioning is that you have removed the different phrases for each card from the smartphone client, which was no longer sustainable given the limited memory compared to a PC. This is something you should continue to focus on, as the client is still very heavy.
A balance towards aggro? I’ve been saying this for years, so maybe take a look at my old posts.
I use them too, every now and then. But unlike some people, I realize that they ruin the gameplay.
In conclusion, I could go on for hours, but I’m sure you have better things to do than read my post.
My final advice to developers is this: set aside a couple of hours a day to play your own game, so you can see all the things that aren’t working, and I won’t have to come here and waste a morning telling you how badly you’re doing (from a balance perspective; the programming is excellent, except for how you handle reconnections).
