There was one big format change with all the heroes and pre-made decks. One minor format change with the deck size = hero health
Every single other format was just juggling with expansions, something that had already been done countless times in comunity events

While it led to some memorable moments, it ultimately did not connect with you in the way we hoped
This part feels a little disingenuous to me. I get you say āthatās on usā but still I donāt think the proper gravitas is put on the fact that this announcement came long after Twist was essentially abandoned for a vast stretch of time. You covered the obvious and prevalent communication problem, which had no real excuse IMO, but also it should be acknowledged how long ago the format was just left dead in the water despite requests from the community for info or ways it could be brought back in a lower-maintenance regard (the ever present ask for just making it some past yearās set of cards)
Please bring back classic, it was my reason for playing

I cannot understand the way twist has been treated from the start. The format did not encourage player experimentation at any stage. It started with old metas, which were already solved at the time of their inception. Adding new overpowered cards certainly didnāt help the deck variety. Then you had some very restrictive deckbuilding rules as the format, intentionally limiting variety. Hard restrictions are good for tavern brawls, but donāt make much sense long term. Then there was that weird phase at the end where you went through the trouble to design custom characters and gimmicks, essentially giving players only a few pre-made options with no room for creativity. The whole selling point of twist was that you would be able to use your old cards in new, creative ways. There could have been seasons with a random set of expansions from different years where players would try to figure out new metas with the given sets. The offline time between twist seasons was inexplicably long and everyone forgot about it.
A roguelike mode like duels was a great idea, but your downfall were the hero powers. Every deck was built around them and it killed the whole point of the roguelike aspect. You should instead focus on making the buckets much more exciting next time, and expand the pool to wild cards. Add better ways to refine your deck. Bob the bartender in the Dalaran heist solo adventure was one of your best ideas in this type of game mode, yet you never expanded on it. Why do we still not have a dual class mode? Duels would be a perfect game mode to experiment with it, without the design-limiting hero powers. If you fear some combinations would be game-breaking, just donāt offer them in buckets based on your current deck. Even if we break the game with a randomly obtained card combo, so what? Just let us be creative in one game mode, please. Standard is a highly regulated experience, and wild is an unregulated fiesta which you have consistently shown that you donāt care about.

Letās be honestā¦ this mode was axed ages ago since itās been forever that itās been gone.
Itās too bad because I actually enjoyed it. I think hearthstone made another error in judgment with this mode just like mercenaries. It was executed poorly, On for one month than gone for a couple months at a time. It was easy to get into the habit of not playing it because it was inactive for months at a time.
I donāt understand who makes the decisions when it comes to project executions at blizzard, but there is definitely a enormous room for improvement.
In May 2022 I created a Classic Hearthstone community that eventually peaked with 1,000 members.
We organized 26 Classic Tournaments on both NA and EU, with live commentary and streaming on Twitch.
We gave out nearly $1,000 in tournament prize money, all raised by our amazing community.
The videos, spreadsheets, tournament statistics, and theory crafting, are all still publicly available and stand as a testament to our love for Classic and the time spent in our favorite game mode.
Despite being totally ignored, and playing through a ranked ladder that was filled with bots, we persevered. Our passion for Classic persevered. Even today, we organize events and friendly challenges with what remains of the Classic card set, coming up with our own āClassic+ā rules.
Weāve been counting the days since the death of our beloved game mode. This seems as good a time as any.

You killed Classic just to kill another format. You should either reverse this decision and make a format that just randomly picks expansions to play or bring back Classic. Thereās increasingly no avenue for me to enjoy the game I once loved because every mode is fundamentally changing. Arena is a discover mess that has no class identity due to discover rules not being strictly within class. Standard has completely changed and unrecognisable to the first 6 years of hearthstone. Wild is obviously broken legacy format. Twist and Classic were the only chances and options I had to continue playing constructed. If you donāt bring back either then there will be no reason for legacy players to ever play constructed again
Please bring back classic! It was removed to make space for twist, well that space just opened back up! Please bring back the mode which allowed new and old players to experience the beginning of hearthstone.
