2hours for 770XP

Feelings don’t care about your facts!

Well. I’ll remember you said that at the end of the pass when I don’t have as much gold as I did this expansion and yet played over twice as many hours.
My facts are clearly an outlier from Blizzard’s model.

Wanna show me the math? On the launch of the BP, you made slightly less gold, but then they patched that by replacing some of the later packs with 300 gold batches.

Normally, when you want to disprove statistics you would supply your own. I’m not a blizzard simp, I just prefer to fact check stuff instead of following what one random influencer with a large platform said.

I mean the math either checks out or it doesn’t not sure what we are debating here.

I’m not showing you anything, I’m not your employee, go find it yourself.

I am willing to concede that their math may be correct, but it sure seems like it isn’t going to get there based on the first weeks since this expansion dropped.

I need to get past lvl 70 to break even with what I did before, and we will just have to see how far I get when this is over.

The issue isn’t the gold in the track or the 150g after that, it’s the amount of xp required, how much you get per activity, and the size of the latter levels. The latter levels are more than double the size of the level I am on, and it took two days of play to get through -including playing more than normal because of a holiday.

It would help if they made the rewards more uniform and the levels the same size. It seems needlessly complex to change the amount of xp and the amount of rewards as the track goes on. It seems like a way to hide diminishing returns, tbh.

There’s nothing to debate, you have to play more to make less gold, let alone if you are not a battle pass buyer. They just want to kill f2p’ers for good I suppose.

Above for a read maybe.

The BP will benefit some, but it will also affect another big group which loses out quite a fair bit, with reference to the same time commitment.

More importantly, the divide between the assurance by Dev pre-BP, and post BP did not relate.

Hey, if I get to the end of the battle pass and I have 9K or more I will be the first to admit I was wrong about the potential gold.
It won’t change the fact that I had to play twice as much though.

My guess is that they wanted to take rewards that you would get in the middle of the expansion and put them at the start because they realized that players primarily buy packs at the beginning of an expansion, maybe it helps in selling more packs? Not sure how the marketing works but that might be why?

This. Exactly.
The amount of play you have to do is insane if you are F2P.

where is the math dude?

havent seen anything that supports your argument. the max gold amount is about 3500g higher. its 22500g vs 19000g or somthing like that. but no one is showing us the time you have to play to get the max gold (cause the assumtion 400/300xp/h isnt right at all).

btw i dont care about the max gold, the only relevent question is: given i play the same amount of hours in the new system like i did in the old system. do i get more, same or less?

where is the math, where is the evidance…

there are this 3 xp/h myths you can read everywhere 400xp/h ranked, 300xp/h battleground, 300xp/h duels, but even the streamers cant get manage to reach that mark.

reward for lvl 28 is a “ashes of outland card pack” in which world is this pack worth 60g or even 150g? same lvl 30, at least its a pack of “madness at the darkmoon…”

ppl talk about evidence and math, link something, show something or show us the math you talkin about, so we understand the reference. what are the assumtions?

60g for the last expansion or the expansion before… why is that a good assumption, ppl build their decks. the question is, what would the player do with the gold… giving ppl crppy rewards cant be compared to the gold, ppl would earn with the old system.

someone said we are all different. agree!
but this useless crap reward system treats us all the same… i dont need the old expansion packs… with gold i am much more flexible.

gold is the fairest and most flexible currency… i dont see how i get to the point of having all cards and about 7k -8k gold for the next expansion, thats what i did managed to get, the last expansions.

Well said. i managed 9K this time doing nothing but mostly 50G dailies and maybe average 20 extra gold per day.
i highly doubt I will manage that this time. The Xp Wall is too steep.
So theoretically the rewards may be the same or better but only by investing two/three times more effort.

This is what I wanted to know. I could play 30 minutes every three days in the old system and get 180-200 gold, depending on how I rerolled my quests and my win rate.

As someone who has FOMO about the game but is extremely wary about coming back, it seems like my very casual playstyle is no longer viable for getting as much gold. Am I correct?

It is much more likely that they did it to disguise the fact that you don’t get as much as you think you do. If they made a straight forward track that was uniform, and level, it would be much easier to understand how you were going to lose. This system gives them cover to make adjustments and still be opaque.

I can only speak for myself, but this is my math.
The system went live on November 12th. Sixteen days.
Under the old system given my play habits I would have gotten 60 gold per day. (50 plus three wins) for a total of 960 gold. Right now under the current system I have 685 gold. (- 275 gold)
So, for all those saying: “It’s better”? It’s not better for players like me.
We got shafted hard unless the system makes up for the losses later on the track.
I will keep counting, but I have very little faith in the outcome.

I like the new system but I’m not F2P or anywhere near it so it doesn’t really make a huge impact on my game beyond free arena and duels runs.

The one thing that does feel bad is the “guilt” you feel for having any downtime between games to mess about with collection, build decks, check hsreplay stats etc
