After the most recent patch on Aug 13, 2025 the wizard in Diablo Immortal has become unplayable for me. Because of the low survivability of the wizard, my only saving grace was my damage at range using coat of the astrum. I’m so pissed after spending all the time and effort in making my ranged build viable only to have it gutted. Why would you force a ranged class to fight in melee range in order to deal decent damage?
The logic doesn’t make any sense as to why the developers nerfed wizard the way they did. They made the lightning novas disappear after death? Ok now you have to make every damage over time effect disappear after death also, right? I’ll take the diminishing returns for applying shock from the skybreakers set but why take away the damage at range for lightning nova!?
I performed some tests on the training dummy before and after the patch and I saw a 20% damage drop in lightning nova using cost of the astrum regardless of the distance from the target. I’m seeing an insane 40% damage drop in dungeons on bosses.
The wizard is a ranged play style class. Always has been since the dawn of wizards in games. You get high damage output but the trade off is low survivability. Now, with the recent patch, the developers are forcing the wizard into melee range just to do decent damage which I can’t do any damage because I’m dead as soon as I take a couple of hits.
This nerf against wizards was ridiculous and needs to be changed immediately.
