As someone who started playing a month after release I loved Barb but when BK came out I absolutely fell in love with the class. The fluidity from the playstyle and cool factor, its just an absolutely fun class to play. I tried Tempest but it felt too herky jerky for me, Druid has potential but not enough essences.
I would really, truly like to know what people think is the true reason Blizzard refuses to make this class viable specifically in PvP. When it first came out it was nerfed into oblivion and sent to the trash heap, as someone who enjoys the crappy MM with whales PvP (I’m being facetious but I love PvP) the Blood Knight literally became unplayable. At some point we had the Macabre Facade “mini meta” and that’s still now a semi viable build to play its boring. Cast Shroud of Night and run away and hope they get some kills…
Lately Blizzard has FINALLY brought Abomination builds into the picture and I think they are on the right track, but the damage to survivability equation isn’t quite there yet.
Tempest has been nerfed but subsequently buffed in other areas like maybe 8 times? Only now after the changes is Tempest, kind of balanced aside from its one shot ability. Yet Blood Knight continues to seem to be a thorn in the side of Blizzard? The broad question for me is not what could be done, but more, why hasn’t much of anything been done to truly improve this class and bring it up to par with the current meta?
