Hey Blizzard,
I’m a Crusader main and wanted to share some honest feedback after the recent patch.
The removal of the Falling Sword essence that transformed your primary attack into a giant fiery greatsword was really disappointing. It was one of the few fun and visually cool alternatives to the constant Cowboy Sweep build. Removing it made Crusader feel even more one-dimensional.
I’d love to see this essence brought back with a stronger lunge or gap closer, similar to how Barbarian’s empowered Cleave lunges forward. Crusader has very poor mobility, so this change would make a big difference.
I also believe ultimates need to be reworked. Currently, using your ultimate cancels out essences that modify your primary attack (this also happens on Wizard). My suggestion is to make ultimates function more like the Warlock’s Sacrificial Power system — where using skills and taking hits charges up a meter, and the ultimate becomes stronger depending on what skills you used. Ultimates should feel empowering, not like they’re taking power away from your build.
Some quality of life changes would also be appreciated:
-
Crusaders should not be knocked off their horse — this should be baseline for all horse skills.
-
You should be able to use all skills and essences while mounted.
-
It would be great if Shield Bash could be turned into a sprint ability to help close gaps, similar to how Barbarians use sprint with their cleave.
Crusader has a lot of potential, but right now it feels very limited. Bringing back the greatsword essence with better mobility and improving ultimates would go a long way.
Thank you for reading.
