Hey,
Everyone knows Monk needs some attention.
Below is a list of already existing essences which could do with some updates to boost the Monk. Text in italics are the new additions, and in some cases I’ve overwritten the entire essence because it felt like a duplicate of another essence.
At the bottom I’ve listed some ideas for new essences.
HELMET
Pensive Crown: Shield of Zen duration increased by X%, and applies dispel to knockback and knockup immunity to enemies entering or leaving Shield of Zen .
Fusing Crown: Mystic Allies now protect you, taking X% of your incoming damage. When Mystic Allies die or expire all damage received will deal the absorbed amount of damage in AOE explosion.
Resurgency: Mystic Allies now have unlimited duration. Kill streaks increase their critical damage by X% during the duration of the kill streak .
Inner Flame: (Increase area slightly .)
Matter of Mind: (It is basically the same thing as Blind Focus. Do something more creative.) Exploding Palm is now a area wave attack applying Exploding Palm to all enemies in area. If an enemy dies with Exploding Palm they burst dealing X damage to all nearby enemies.
SHOULDER
Mantle of the Crane: Flying Kick range increased by X%. Enemies near you while performing Flying Kick are pulled toward you.
Authority of Patience: Imprisoned Fist now causes you to charge in a direction. Enemies hit will be silenced for X seconds.
Endless Trial: Imprisoned Fist now quickly launches a flurry of devastating punches in front of you. Enemies hit become slowed, the last hit stuns the enemies for X seconds.
Blazing Ablution: Wave of light now places multiple golden bells that all resonate and deal damage to nearby enemies when any of you or your allies primary attacks, skills or ground damage hit them.
Shoulders of Vylnas: Wave of light now covers you with a golden bell, primary attacks create a force that pulls nearby enemies to you, skills create a wave of energy which pushes them away.
Unbound River: Flying Kick deals X% increased damage to shielded enemies, also increasing damage taken by X% for X seconds.
Divine Burden: Flying Kick become slide tackle, dash forward dodging ground effects. Hitting an enemy casting or channeling a spell interrupts the enemy , if an enemy is interrupted a portion of the cooldown is returned.
CHEST
Typhlot Robe: Cyclone Strike now produces a dust storm that shreds the enemies skin, it causes a Bleed that can stack up to 3 times, dealing up to X damage per second over X seconds.
Pacific Pledge: Shield of Zen now also significantly reduces area damage against you.
Noble’s Path: (Make this automatically attack when close enough to an enemy affected by knockback or knocked airborne.)
Driven Thunder: (Buff the damage again.)
LEGS
Grace’s Bounty: Flying Kick becomes Spinning Kick, dashing forward damaging all nearby enemies.
Momentum’s Flow: Flying Kick now unleashes a series of kicks at enemies in a direction, pulling them to you, with the final kick knocking enemies away. If the enemy strikes a wall slow the enemies movement speed for X seconds.
Tottering Tower: Flying Kick now Stuns enemies with a powerful kick, if followed up with Fists of Thunder increase your damage by X% for each hit for 3 seconds, if followed up with Deadly Reach apply a Bleed that can stack up to 3 times, dealing up to X damage per second over X seconds.
Gergel’s Familiarity: (Add a Movement Speed buff for X seconds.)
Gift of the Suffering: Mystic Allies now give you Life Drain. If your health drops below 50% Mystic Allies gain increased Attack Speed. If your health is above 50% Mystic Allies gain teleport to nearby enemy, they can teleport again after every third hit.
MAIN HAND
Rod of Echoes: Mystic Allies attacks also apply a Bleed that can stack up to 3 times, dealing up to X damage per second over X seconds.
OFFHAND
Power of Undulation (Rename to The One): Wave Strike becomes The One, harness the power from the 1,001 Gods and slow time around you, power your Primary Attacks to double strike in a flurry, the dome around you has a X% chance to deflect projectiles back to the enemy.
Eye of the Storm: Cyclone Strike radius increased by X% and triggers all continual damage on the targets, causing them to instantly take the remaining damage.
Path of the Present: Exploding Palm now throws a giant palm in a direction, damaging all enemies in its path applying Shocking Palm. When Exploding Palm is detonated it releases a lightning explosion that triggers Chain Lightning if the enemy is currently shocked.
Respites Sigh: Inner Sanctuary duration increased by X%, and increases the Movement Speed of you and your allies by X% for X seconds.
Twitching Palm: (Emitting bolts have a X% chance to turn into Chain Lightning when hitting a Shocked enemy. )
Willbillow: (Increase range. )
Column of Shivers: (Also has a X% chance to dispel knockback and knock up cc immunity.)
NEW ESSENCE IDEAS
Breath of Heaven now calls upon the 1,001 Gods for X seconds, preventing you from dying and causing all your attacks to heal you for X% of the damage done while active.
Cyclone Strike pulls enemies into a vortex and grants you a shield absorbing equal to X% of your max life for each enemy affected, lasts 3 seconds.
Exploding Palm now causes the explosion to chain up to 2 additional nearby enemies, and each chain heals you for X% of the damage dealt.
Inner Sanctuary also creates a reflective aura that slows enemy projectiles passing through by X% and reflects X% of ranged damage back to attackers.
Mystic Strike now leaps to a target location, and grants you immunity to slows and roots for X seconds.
