Immortal allows you to create 5 characters per account.
But there’s no interaction between characters, stash, resources, clans.
It’s a waste of time to grow multiple characters since the class changes are free.
I want multiple characters to be useful in one account.
But if they did that, players would be able to use 4 characters to just farm (materials, gold, gems, keys, crests, etc.) for their main one and that’s against the game’s “policy”, at least in regards to anything that can be bought with real money. There are “resources” that are account-wide, like the Empowered Battle Pass or Orbs, and these can be used by all/any characters in a same account. Everything else is “character-bound” and I doubt that this will be changed.
The reason why you can have up to 5 character in your main account was because at the beginning of the game you couldn’t change classes, so in this way you could play with up to 5 different classes.
So if they do that change now, and let the 5 character to trade between then you would have player’s abusing on that, people would just get all the BP and normal gems cap for there main and start farming from there other 4 characters, giving a very big advantage and making AFK farming even worst
Last time I bought the Battle Pass, only characters on the same server can utilize the Battle Pass, one of them bought.
Because you can create multiple characters on different servers on the same account, the „account wide“ use of the BP is not completely correct.
I stand corrected, you are 100% right. Didn’t think of that because all of my account’s characters are in the same server.

Oooook… So I had forgotten that long ago I created a character in a second server (Zatham), saw it when I went to create a new one to test. Launched the game with this character and it does have the Collector’s Empowered Battle Pass enabled, same as all of my other Characters in the same account but in a different server (Greiz).
I also checked my payment’s history, although it seemed weird that I would have bought an “extra” Collector’s Empowered Battle Pass for a character that I’m not playing with, and I only found one payment.
With this, it would seem that BP purchases (Empowered or Collector’s) are indeed account-wide, or at least “cluster-wide” (both Greiz and Zatham are servers in the same EU/Spanish cluster).
The new BP will be available soon and I will probably buy at least the Empowered one for my “main” account characters (in Greiz), so I will be able to confirm with 100% certainty if it is also enabled for the “forgotten” character (in Zatham). Let’s hope that I will remember to check and post back… 
It could really be a cluster thing. When I checked that, I had Characters on the same Server as my main. And 1 on two others. Those two were both „German Servers“, 1 belonging to another cluster and the other being standalone.
So your example of being on different servers from the same cluster, wasn’t tested then.
I could buy the current BP „for science“, because I actually now have a couple of characters on different servers in the same cluster as my main, but I think I‘ll pass. 
They should of made all store purchases account wide then it would have been somewhat viable to level alts.
Or make all gems and crests account wide but you can only collect rewards once depending on what toon your logged into.
Correction… I deleted my previous post, because I just saw that it was wrong.
Right now, I entered the game, main account, chose the “secondary” server, launched the game with the “extra” character that I usually don’t play with… And there it was, Empowered BP “for free”.
Then, I created a new character in a different server cluster (and language) leveled it up until I the BP became available and saw that for this character I would need to pay again for the Collector’s or Empowered version.
So, BP purchases seem to be cluster-wide, but not account-wide. Maybe characters in different clusters but same language would get also the Empowered BP without paying again, but I can’t test this, as there is only one Spanish cluster… But to test this, I’d need to buy the BP for this new character, create another in a different English cluster, etc. Not willing to go through all that just for an experiment
