Gauntlet 3 legacy bugged and compensation required for wasted hours and days

In addition to a description of the bug you are reporting, please provide:

Device Type: HTC
Device Model: DIABLO IMMORTAL VERSION
Device Operating System: ANDROID
Diablo Immortal App Version: LATEST

Gauntlet 3 legacy is flawed and defies all logic of combat rating scalling, damage reduction from player armor and equipment and in general defies all logic of diablo immortal mechanics.

The bosses attacks ignore all damage reduction effects players have and bypass all armor to deliver instant kill irrespective of your armor and combat rating you have above the bosses.

This has become more certain following the recent adjustments of combat rating requirements for inferno 10 and inferno 11 gauntlets. Despite cr requirement going down to 50k for G3 legacy … The bosses will instantly kill you with one shot upon landing an attack on players with 58,000+ combat rating.

Up to now only a player base of less than 10% have been able to clear G3 legacy despite countless attempts

Blizzard should immediately remove the “ignore armor and damage reduction” feature from the bosses and compensate generously to millions of players who have wasted hundreds of hours doing an activity they never had a chance to begin with.

Only a barbarian or Blood knight with over 8k resonance and insane life drain has a slim chance of finishing G3 legacy… everybody else does not stand a chance even with 60k combat rating.

Is it with a specific boss? Can you share some clips as well as timing and UUID and server? Some of the bosses have one shot kills which is part of the fight of knowing when to back off. What kind of stats does your party compose of?

All Bosses of G3 legacy will deliver instant kill to fairly strong players with 58,000 combat rating as long as they land the attack.

Right now I don’t have screen shots and I would not know what moment to capture.

The logical thing to do here is for you to ask 4 or 8 of development team members to do G3 legacy with fairly strong character say 5000 resonance and 58000 cr in a standard server environment and share their experience with you.

Obviously they will fail to complete G3 legacy. Guaranteed.

From their feedback you will be able to understand how insane and impossible G3 legacy is to a standard player anywhere.

Even if bosses have power attacks that can kill you instant understandably…. It is ridiculous for normal boss attacks to instantly kill you constantly while you are 8000 cr above the said boss.

Once in a while is normal… but one shots that will not even allow you to ressurect your character is abnormal.

The thing with the gauntlets, the 3rd in the series especially, is the difficulty is not tied to cr. Assuming you are at or over the most bonus you will ever get is only 10%.

As to damage the bosses deal, I do sort of agree. They don’t bypass anything, but they are tuned to hit crazy hard and you really have to dodge perfectly if you aren’t a whale. I made a post on exactly this about a year ago when I was like 3.5k res. It used to be the common strat to stack 4 necros for bone armor back when it negated 100% damage instead of shielded. I’ve whaled up since to the point they don’t hurt that bad and kinda forgot, but I’d bet it’s still a concern for the average player.

The real difficulty in completing gauntlets is the dps check. The bosses have so much health that an average group of players, even with modest res do not do enough damage to kill the final boss before the enrage timer, especially if people die early. Legacy G3 raids spend like 20 min only to not have a chance at beating the 5th boss.

The balance issue is, there is a wide gap between what the average player does and what is theoretically possible. A full raid of optimized mid res players can 100% win, so can a couple optimized whales carry a group of others. I think they are tuned a little high, but they are doable.

Thank for your convincing reply and while everything you said is the standard truth of gauntlets current and past…. The current G3 is a different phenomenon.

I downloaded Diablo immortal around 25th may 2022… when the game launched on 2nd June I made an account and logged in. I’ve been playing since.

I’ve cleared almost all gauntlets diablo immortal have thrown our way, mostly the hard way. Am still low reso (2.5k) but with experience am finely tuned to deal damage higher than most 5k resonance players in pve.

Note I’ve personally already cleared the current G3 legacy gauntlet.

despite dealing 10 billion damage while we cleared it, I had exhausted my resurrections by start of last boss. 5 other players raging between 4.5k reso and 7k reso had exhausted theirs too.(ie. Died 8 times)

It took 2 10k+ barbarian with insane life drain, savior and undying rage to clear the last bosses which took over 20 minutes. Even when enraged barbs with high reso can’t be killed while with a specific recent build.

Am not sure of your meaning of “mid level player” is, you probably consider 8k resonance or 10k reso as mid level players in which case your reply would make sense and be correct.

What my point?… I’ve done all gauntlets up to the current G2 seasonal but in my 4 years of playing diablo-immortal I’ve not encountered anything like G3 legacy.

You pulled records and gave me a fine scripted truth of all standand gauntlets. Which is very true.

You failed at one thing and one thing only…. Directly checking the said matter. It was simple…. TAKE 8 DEVELOPERS WITH 5K RESO OR 6K, AVERAGE 58K COMBAT RATING AND DO G3 LEGACY WHICH HAS 50K CR REQUIREMENT.

After they fail miserably to clear G3 legacy and show you screenshots of how they were repeatedly insta killed. Then come tell me how G3 legacy is normal.

You know what would be even more convincing….. A video of your 8 5-6k reso players clearing G3 legacy. You can even ask the community to provide such videos.

Then tell us you deliberately gave us an activity specially tuned to be possible to ONLY less than 20% of base players and it’s okay if the rest 80% fails coz that was your intention.

In that case I’ll be at peace.

While G3 legacy is not impossible… the inner mechanics of boss damage are not comparable to any other gauntlet or pve activity in history of diablo immortal. (Screenshots not available, you can only experience it yourself)

How about a single player who has 4.4K resonance and 56.9K Combat Rating?

This is a video of them completing Inferno 9 Gauntlet solo

So, your claim is that eight players, all of which would have higher resonance / combat rating than the player in the video, cannot complete the Gauntlet, when a single player with less stats shows how to do it?

Huh, that is impressive and a crazy amount of +demon dmg. I’m higher on the dummy and still a bit slower on the bosses than he is despite much higher res. If the new difficulty wasn’t coming so soon I’d make a demon set to compare. (edit: dang, would need preVithu nerf too)

Surviving past enrage requires something like a Barb or BK for the life drain, but any group can theoretically beat the enrage timer with enough dps.

Thank you…. It was already known that only bk or barb can clear this G3 legacy (from original post)

I play Bk too. I’ve not tried his build which has less dps considering I do 1.2 billion on dummy with 2.5 reso..

This demonstration still does not negate the fact that G3 legacy is for less than 20% players base Bk and barbs included.

I’ve said numerous times that G3 legacy is not impossible. Bk clearing it is not surprising.

Give me an oddity.

6k reso players, 4 or more players without a barb or Bk clearing G3 legacy.

Or admit you intentionally pushed out an activity only possible to less than 20% base players.. And allowed the rest to waste time with it.

This demonstrates it’s difficult. Your claim was that it’s bugged.
Difficult =/= bugged.

This is always the case, with each set of three Gauntlets.

  • The first one, with 2 bosses, is basically easy if you have the CR.
  • The 2nd one, with 4 bosses, is tough but do’able, if you have the CR and damage.
  • The 3rd one, with 5 bosses, is tough and requires huge damage, i.e. usually whales only.

Clearly, if someone was able to solo G9 that means a raid of 8 players, all of which could each do at least 1/8th of that player’s DPS, could also beat it.

Stop claiming something is bugged just because it’s difficult.

What your original post said was…

…and the BK in the video I linked had 56900 CR and 4445 resonance.
He shows all of his stats about 35 minutes into the video.

The norm of heliquary is they scale with number of participants.

A Bk who we already determined the can survive G3 legacy took the easiest mode of G3 legacy and cleared it. G3 with the least boss hp, least boss damage etc.

And yes G3 legacy is bugged coz you pushed it with insane boss damage scale: only bearable by 2 classes and whales.

As long as you’re countering me with Bk and barbs my claim remains

Give me an oddity.

Look at the Difficulty Range on Raids versus Gauntlets.

Helliquary Raid bosses scale from 1-8 players…

Helliquary Gauntlet bosses are set for 8 players, regardless of how many players you enter with…

In the Gauntlet events, the bosses have the same HP / damage output regardless of whether you enter with one player or up to eight.

Once again, just because it’s difficult does not mean it’s bugged.

Your original claim was that only raids with 8K resonance BKs or Barbs could do it.
I provided a video of a 4.4K resonance BK solo’ing it.

Give Blizzard some evidence that it’s bugged, rather than just difficult and you can’t do it.

I have no more claims… an extinct gauntlet about 4 months into it’s retirement and still not possible for 80% player base is normal if you say so.

Come June players will clear G3 inf 11 and G3 legacy will retire.

I know you searched immensely for a different video to prove me wrong but didn’t find any other…. I searched too. I could only find that 1 Bk.

I admit difficulty is not a bug… it was the intention of developers for G3 bosses to one-shoot players to an extent that only 15% of player base can survive.

And even when players are 60k cr by June… G3 legacy will retire Unconquered. The normal thing in diablo immortal.

Thank you for your great insight.

And, there we have it.
Difficult, not bugged.

I’d swear that I just watched a video of someone conquering G3 legacy… Yes, it was a BK with good damage and even better survivability, so if you are having problems, how about trying to make a raid with at least 1-2 BK and/or Barbarians? I mean, if one single BK can do it, imagine a raid with 2-3 BKs…It should be like a walk in the park. For them, at least…

I’ve cleared G3 legacy…. Twice

And am Bk too.

I was hoping this would take the perspective of all other classes who are not Bk or barbs. It didn’t.

How about from the perspective of a Wizard, under the CR requirements at the time, 5 months ago…

A wizard in company of 7 whales:joy::joy::joy:

Stop digging… this matter is settled.

It’s just a difficult gauntlet that more than 80% of base players will never get to clear as it was intended by the developers.

It’s not a big deal.

Four of which were doing less damage than a Wizard with CR below the requirement? If those are whales, give me small fish

It’s a Gauntlet, period. They are supposed to be a real challenge, that’s why they are so difficult, with bosses incredibly boosted in damage and life. But many people beat them, not by themselves, surely, but that’s what groups are for.

I’d say that whoever wants to clear it, can. They only need to find a group powerful enough for the raid. In my server, at least, I’ve seen many people beat Gauntlets with low CR, low resonance, low secondaries… As long as they could find a bunch of capable people willing to “carry” them.

It was settled when no evidence was presented to show it was bugged.
Heck, it was even admitted to not being a bug.

If they were accompanied by seven whales, why was the under-CR wizard 4th for damage done?

If players that didn’t even have enough CR, on a fragile class like Wizard, can manage it 5 months ago, what is people’s excuse now?

The Helliquary Gauntlet is challenging content, not everyone is meant to clear the 3rd difficulty easily and combat rating is not the end all be all of stats.

Group synergies and classes can matter more than raw stats. Everyone has the same access to classes and since it’s a group challenge there’s technically still nothing forcing you as single individual to swap classes to accomplish it. You might just need to find the right group to do it with, but it’s completely possible to finish.

There’s currently no plans to change the tuning on Gauntlets.
