The new system for Shadow Wars came to my server with the new Cycle of Strife. Overall the system is good with the points ranking based on win and loss (3 for win, 1 for loss). But the main concern I have is with the First Week’s Standing Score. Previosly the score showed all the marks the clan won over the whole cycle. The new score shows only the score for the first week, actually for the first two days. This is absurd. This makes the whole Shadow Ranks (Initiate, Apprentice & etc.) absolute. Yes, you gain personal benefits for ranking (damage & defense increase) but the clan don’t gain anything. And only two days to increase this score!!! My clan is not a top clan. It will be hard every 7 weeks to make people rank up exactly on this two days. THE FUN FOR ME WAS SEEING HOW MY CLAN DEVELOPS OVER THE CYCLE. Easy FIX will be simply to make the Standing Score how was it before + the new point feature.
Hope I was clear.
It’s my first post!
I like the game and I want thing to improve!
If someone wants to say something I’m open for discussion.

My clan only has 6 heroes, so no Shadow Wars. Even then, it used to stand around 30-35 in the rankings the first 2-3 weeks and end in 50-55 at the end of the cycle (7 weeks).
Now, even when the clan’s rank is 14 (4th week of the cycle) and had got almost 200K points as “First Week’s rankings”, the clan stands at 80 in the rankings. Because without Shadow Wars, it has 0 “Score”. Of course, clans with more than 30 “heroes”, can sign-up for Wars on Monday, don’t show on Thursday, don’t show on Saturday and get 2 points weekly, or even 6 if the opponents don’t show either. With no activity (or almost) whatsoever.
I really don’t care that much about the rankings, it’s not as if there were rewards to be gained or lost, but I find it a bit unfair that many clans can be higher in those rankings only because their leader clicked on “Sign-up” for Shadow Wars at the beginning of the week and even if that clan has done absolutely nothing “shadows-wise” since the start of the cycle.
Current rankings:
Why are those clans (and many others that can’t be seen in that image) above mine in the rankings? Only because they have enough heroes (active or not) and signed-up for some weekly Wars. It’s not even necessary to sign-up every week, just one gives at least 2 points.
IMO, the previous system was fairer and showed in a better way which clans are actually working towards the progress of the Shadows.
Your Shadow Clan’s overall ranking is based on it’s total Shadow Points, which is the accumulated total of all your members’ individually gained Shadow Points. So, whilst the first two days’ of points may determine who you face in the Shadow War battles, your overall, ongoing clan total decides your Shadow Clan ranking.
- The top 3 Shadow Clans get to take part in Vigil of Blades (weeks 1-3 of the reign)
- The Top 10 Shadow Clans get to take part in the Rite of Exile (weeks 4-7 of the reign)
So, your members’ contributions, over the entire seven weeks, matter.
If they’re doing all of their tasks, and without needing to convert any Adventurers into Shadows each day, it’s entirely possible for them to reach Whisper IV, with a full 3500/3500 bar, on Monday of Week 4 of the Reign.
Not anymore, it would seem. My clan’s ranking is 80, as you can see in the screenshot and it is at rank 14, got 184580 points in First Week’s Rankings. It seems clear that clans at rank 1 after more than 3 weeks are doing nothing (or almost) to be higher in the rankings. And yet, there they are. Only because they have “participated” in Shadow Wars.
So, it seems that rankings currently are based exclusively on Score. Which can only be increased by signing-up (not necessarily participating) in Shadow Wars and earning points.
Unless I’m missing something, of course, which is entirely possible
As I writed above, the new system ranks clans based on:
- Points from Shadow Wars matches (3 for win, 1 for loss & 0 for not participating);
- Score from marks/ranks (Initiate, Apprentice $ etc) - ONLY FROM THE FIRST TWO DAYS.
Score is calculated only the first two days. That is the biggest issue I have. I want the old system where all 7 week ranking mattered.

My clan mates and I busted a$$ getting the clans average standing to where we were and now this new system has completely screwed the whole thing up. I no longer give a damn. Weak low ranked clans got easy shadow war matches and suddenly my people who are active and work hard barely made the top 20 because we drew the number one clan on the server on Saturday. Great steaming piles of bovine fecal matter.
Something is broken with this new system. There should be 2 separate Dark Clan leaderboards. One based on shadow rank, and one based on Shadow points.
Activity based on Shadow points should update as it used to. This was crucial to top ten clans. Shows your clans activity levels and progress through the cycle. This was a huge recruiting tool. Now it’s USELESS and demoralizing to the clan as a whole.
At this point in the reign, what is the point of a Dark Clan Leaderboard that shows 12 clans with the exact same shadow WAR point score in “1st” and the next 15 clans with slightly less but also the same shadow WAR score in “2nd”.
This new system is either broken, poorly designed, or poorly documented to explain how a Dark Clan is supposed to advance. My guess is that it is a combination of all three. This sucks.
