BOTS Finally broke the market in my server cluster

Due to the complete lack of action and the ongoing incompetence of those responsible for managing this game, the inevitable has finally happened — bots have taken full control.

What was once a balanced and competitive environment has turned into a fully automated economy, dominated by BOTS and exploiters. The silence and inaction from the developers have only made it worse, allowing the situation to reach a point where legitimate players no longer stand a chance.

The in-game economy has completely collapsed, and I doubt this problem is isolated to my server alone.

Bots have taken over entirely — they flood the market with **15,000 gems of each type every 2 days, selling them for as little as 60 platinum. There are easily over 10,000 visible bots, especially noticeable in the lower Hell difficulties, where they remain AFK 24/7 without ever being affected or penalized.

Before this, players could earn a fair amount of platinum by farming non-bound daily and weekly gems, which allowed for gradual progress and fair trading. Now that the economy is under complete bot control, that dynamic has vanished. Legitimate players can no longer compete, and the market has turned into an automated loop that benefits only those exploiting the system.

At this point, one has to wonder — how severe must the situation become before real action is finally taken?

Same thing happening on our server. Really frustrating that there’s been no quick response from the devs, people are posting about this everywhere, on Reddit and Discord, but still no comments at all. I’m worried they’ll only fix it with one of those ban waves that come every few months, and meanwhile we’re just supposed to put up with this problem.

Need warden back to clean house :+1:

Yeah, wish they would do something about the botting situation or at least review the reports against bots. Stupid that they added stuff to fight AFK farmers when they were pretty insignificant compared to the bot farms going on.

That being said, the markets usually get their worst during the winds of fortune events so prices normally go up a little after a week or so.

Can’t even sell a skill stone for profit any more. Used to be if you had a skill stone with 2 skills of any class that would sell at a small profit.

Now you either destroy it or take a loss by selling for less than the 500 plat it costs to extract it. Bliz should make the extraction free

Eventually they will have to remove the peer to peer market and make it a direct exchange with 15% tax for selling gems, pets, Terror essence, ectetra to the NPC.

its crazy its gotten to this point in my cluster its not as bad but getting there quickly, bots run rampant putting up thousands of gems every few days, around 4000 gems seem to be controlled by one person because if you go to undercut them the 4000 gems posted for 110 platinum seem to suddenly be posted for less then what u undercut, its absurd. we need updated rules on trading that are strict or stricter then the chinese version of the game it’s not fair to real players who btw fund the game.

It makes absolutely no sense that a small group of people is controlling the entire in-game global market — the owners of those 1,000+ bots that keep flooding the market with 9,000 gems every few days with total inmunity.

Because judging by the comments, this is happening across all regions and servers. Yet Blizzard’s admins keep turning a blind eye, acting as if nothing is happening in the game.

Oh, and as an extra note — even from the Terror Rifts you can see groups of 200 bots running around, haha. They’re now exploiting the Terror Essences as well.

So basically, we’re talking about a group that owns thousands of bots and is on a mission to control every single aspect of the game’s economy — while the admins, Blizzard, or whoever’s in charge, clearly couldn’t care less about the players.

The game’s completely colonized by bots — what a joke.

Hopefully more players start sharing how things are on their servers — maybe in five years Blizzard will finally decide to do something about it.

EU Server Cluster = The Martyr / Sea of Light / Crystal Arch / Diamond Gates / Peace Warders

That’s 608 sapphires available, in total, across the cluster.

Beledwe (EU)
Current prices:
Sapphires, Aquamarines and Citrines → 65 plat (2-3 times drop in a month and a half)
Other gems ~50 plat

Still zero actions from devs. Many people on the server are unhappy with the situation.

Yeah, it’s the same on our server. They’re putting gems up for the lowest possible price in stacks of 1000. Honestly, I don’t even feel like farming anymore, because what’s the point? It’s all because of bots and players who have like 20 extra characters and sell for the lowest price just to move their platinum faster. I can’t stand those sad, pathetic people.

Good for you and all those who haven’t yet been hit by the armies of bots.

On my server this happens every few days — and that’s with only a handful around. These days they’re probably posting about 8,000 sapphires.

Oh, I hadn’t checked the others — on just two pages there are over 6,000 gems from the so-called untouchable bot lords.

Embedding for you:

That’s in Spanish… Can’t say what server you’re in, but in mine (Greiz, in the EU-Spanish cluster), there are way less of those gems listed:

Let’s not forget that now, all gems listed at a same price stack together, no matter who listed them. For Rubys, there’s only one listing with 7679 units at 50 platinum (minimum price). It doesn’t mean that some bot put ALL of those gems in the market. Just that almost no one buys Rubys, so everyone lists them at minimum price hoping that they will be lucky.

This is intentional by blizzard.

As more bots take up the game, the drop rates fall.

Notice how the RNG have gone higher, because players report less drops for legendary essences and set items.

The set hunter item drop rate was a lie.

The haunt coil drop rate was a lie.

Always question what blizzard does with the drop rates.

I get your point, but trying to ignore the reality of this, at least in many servers, is just playing dumb.

Because you can see the bot armies everywhere, grouped up in the market, outside terror rifts, farming AFK, they’re literally all over the place. So trying to pretend that those thousands of gems gems being listed are from real players is an insult to our intelligence.

Even in world chat they’re constantly spamming emojis to group up; and it’s all bots.

I literally do not see this on the cluster I play on.

I haven’t seen this either.

I saw a discussion about this issue on the official Discord server, and it’s really looks like that not all servers are affected. So, just because you don’t have this problem doesn’t mean other servers aren’t affected, and vice versa.

Remember, the claims were…

I’m not claiming that what is being reported is not happening at all. However, the claim was that it was happening everywhere and that everyone could see it.

As evidenced in this thread and, by the official Discord, that’s clearly not the case.

It’s serious enough if it’s happening on any server / cluster, and should be dealt with, but making claims that it’s happening everywhere, when it simply isn’t, doesn’t help.

I guess I’m lucky to be in one server that for now is free of these bots. Like Meteorblade, I don’t see “bot armies” anywhere. Also, as I showed with my screenshot, I don’t see thousands of gems being listed.

As for the comment in your quote, that was about all 7679 gems of a very specific (and undesired) type being listed together at the same, minimum price, in MY server. Just checked all gems (rank 1):

Tourmaline - 3292 total, starting at 163 x 50 plat and two pages with different prices.

Ruby - 8687 total, all at 50 plat.

Citrine - 1778 total, starting at 8 x 103 plat, three pages.

Topaz - 549 total, starting at 8 x 88 plat, two pages.

Sapphire - 369 total, starting at 12 x 148 plat, 6 different prices listings.

Aquamarine - 1297 total, starting with 11 x 139 plat, two pages.

I’m not saying that bots are not a problem. Only that (for now) they are NOT in my server. Hence, the gems listed in the market that I can see, were put there by real players. And I can’t speak about other servers, because I don’t play in them so I have no idea.
