The rewards are ridiculous, and we players have to settle for crumbs.
Add to each battle pass at least 3 chests containing a 5/2 bound legendary gem. This will allow you to create one level 4 gem per season pass. It’s not much, but it will help low-spending players. It won’t harm high-spending players at all. Even with this change, reaching level 5 or 6 with a single gem will still be a long and arduous journey.
Also add 3 common gems bound at level 7, allowing you to choose one gem from the yellow ones, one from the blue ones, and one from the red ones. In total, we can use 20 of these gems. This change won’t significantly alter the game, as the gap to level 8 with these gems is very high. But it will greatly help low-spending players. It won’t harm high-spending players at all.
The battle pass skins are getting uglier and uglier, and I understand the real reason for that. But instead of wasting time creating this, add the possibility to exchange skins linked to another class to the pass, Customize the color…
Diablo Immortal’s strategy is focused on players who invest insane amounts of money in a game. But for these people to play, there needs to be a common community. And the current gap isn’t interesting even to the “whales”; ordinary players offer them no challenge whatsoever. It’s bordering on ridiculous.
An average player reaches level 7 secondary gems and five-star legendary gems at level 4. Level 5 or 6 is only achievable with considerable investment and a lot of effort and time. We’re talking about years, and that’s insane when we’re talking about a game.
The gap between an average player and a “whale” is immense. You valuing average players more and allowing them to increase their power will still not change anything for high investors.
On the contrary, today if you put a whale on the battlefield against 10 average players, the difficulty for it to defeat them all is zero. Where is the fun in that?
Rethink your policy. The more satisfied players you have, the more the game grows. Those who invest heavily are a small minority. Value low spenders more. The battle pass is accessible to almost all players, and with a large number of players, the profits will be truly interesting for you.
I would already be happy if we could craft a single 5 star gem from the enhanced battlepass but not even this is possible. I totally agree that the skins are absolute ugly and i think they are not made by humans and bet its just AI made, nobody really cares about this skins anymore and they could replace it for something usefull.
You should be grateful for what you have. I’m on here today to complain about my $50K + Toon that can’t compete with FTP or Low Spender as you call it! Makes me want to cuss! Look to compete with your peers and don’t covet what someone else has. It could be much worse. All I want is a fair shake. If I have a player with 3X the stats, I should be 3X stronger, yes? Wrong. I get whipped repeatedly by players that are no where near me. Today I’m watching a 33K damage player do double damage vs 57K and on down the line…Fortitude, etc. Armor, RESO, etc, etc. Stay a Low Spender, you’ll be the wiser. AS for Blizzard. Fix this!
So, you want multiple free 5-star gems and three Rank 7 normal gems per Battle Pass?
A Rank 7 normal gem is the equivalent of 729 Rank 1 gems and 8 Echo Crystals. On the server I’m on, Rank 1 Sapphires on the Marketplace tend to fluctuate between 150 and 170 platinum each. Let’s just say 150 plat per Rank 1. Echo Crystals cost 500 plat each. So, being able to get a Rank 7 Sapphire from the Battle Pass would be the equivalent of (729 * 150) + (8 * 500) = 113,350 plat. Rank 1 Tourmalines are 50 plat each, so a Rank 7 of that would be 40,450 plat. Rank 1 Citrines / Topazes are around 100 plat each, so a Rank 7 of that would be 76,900 plat. As for legendary gems, if you were to get three of them, and you could choose which one, you’d pick a powerful one, that would be expensive on the Marketplace. How about a Blood Soaked Jade? Cheapest one I found was 44,800 plat. Okay, so that’s a total of 113,350 + 40,450 + 76,900 + 44,800 = 275,500 plat.
So, you want to spend just £3.79 for the Empowered Battle Pass and for this to result in you getting over a quarter of a million plat worth of rewards?
LOL.
Out of curiosity, how much actually is a quarter million plat in real money? When bought through official channels. As a zero spender myself I don’t pay much attention to these exchange rates.
I know Shady Susans advertise their plat for few dollars per 10k. So the official costs should be far more substantial.
The EU price for the “biggest” purchase that would allow you to get platinum is 187.99€ and you get 15K Eternal Orbs = 150K platinum. There’s no way to purchase platinum directly, so you’d need to combine Eternal Orbs bundles. But with a bit of maths, the price for 275,500 platinum in the official shop would be around 345€.
And the OP wants that for £3.79 which is about 4.35 Euro, i.e. they want rewards worth almost 80 times what they’d be spending. Yeah, I’m sure Blizzard will get right on that. ![]()
Get that outdated idea out of your mind; here I’m suggesting positive changes for the game. Just because things are this way now doesn’t mean they have to stay that way. We need progress in the game. Very dedicated players, but who don’t invest amounts that, in my view, are absurd to spend on a game where the goal is to have fun, are a world of distance behind those who invest those amounts in the game. Regardless of the player’s dedication, they will get stuck at a certain point and will no longer be able to progress without a high investment of money. When you reach that point, everything loses its meaning and the game loses its appeal. I’ve seen many players abandon the game.
This game has real potential, but it needs changes to achieve that.
*I’m considering a whale player and a low-spender player, who understand the game and know where to progress and what to focus on.
Since I said that all these gems would be bound, and if the market value drops because of that, that’s good. In no way is this bad for the players.
Do you think the current system is fair, where a person invests thousands of dollars to get a 5-star gem to grade 10 and after a while that gem becomes unusable because of new gems being implemented in the game? This game needs many changes, and those of us who enjoy playing it should come here and share our ideas aimed at continuous improvement, thinking about the community as a whole, which is what makes the game successful or not.
Don’t think solely and exclusively about yourself. If you receive gains in some way, because of the current game policy, that doesn’t matter to me. I think about the success of Diablo Immortal and its overall community, which I hope will grow more and more. But without the necessary changes, that won’t happen.
No, you’re ignoring the fact that the players who already have what you want either spent hundreds / thousands of Euros to obtain them, or spent years earning them in-game as F2P. You want 345 Euros worth of stuff, for just over 4 Euros spent, so that you can bypass all that, because you don’t want to earn it like we all did.
Think about what you’re asking for. At a price of £3.79 for the empowered battle pass, you want multiple 5-star gems and Rank 7 normal gems. Let’s just take a look at the legendary gems. The drop rate of a 5-star gem from an eternal or legendary crest is 4.5%, with a pity counter that ensures one after 50 crests used. Let’s assume, just to make a point, that you’d average one of these per 25 crests (it’s way less likely than that, but go with this). Okay, so to get the three 5-stars you’re asking for from the £3.79 Battle Pass, would take 75 crests. Each legendary crest costs 160 Orbs. So, that’s the equivalent of 75 * 160 = 12,000 Orbs. Let’s take a quick look at the Shop…
- 15,000 Orbs = £149.99
- 7,200 Orbs = £75.99
- 3,450 Orbs = £37.99
- 1,650 Orbs = £18.99
So, to get 12000 Orbs, you’d need to buy a 7200 pack, a 3450 pack and a 1650 pack (getting you to 12300 Orbs) which would cost £132.97
And you want that for £3.79
It’s obvious why this would be an attractive proposition for you, but why would Blizzard want to do that financially, i.e. why would they give you a £129.18 discount? Why would any player spend money buying orbs, to get crests, to gamble for 5-stars, if they could just spend £3.79 and get three 5-stars of their choice?
Heck, look at the price of the Masterwork Gem Chests that give you 5-star gems. They’re roughly £75 for the one that gives you a random gem, and £150 for the one that lets you choose one.
What possible reason would Blizzard deliberately throw away money just so you can catch up without spending time or money like the rest of us did?
They may be positive for players but catastrofic for Blizzard/Netease. Bear in mind that this is a pay-to-win game through and through. What you suggest would devastate the entire business model and any incentives for the devs to develop actual content.
After reading these arguments, coming from people I believe to be gamers, I’ve changed my opinion. I believe that Blizzard should actually double or triple all the fees charged.
