I am having the same issue, also my windows 10 pro is stuck on 1903, upgrading is not working, also not with the update assistant.
I really want Blizzard to fix their game, it is outrageous the game does this check, it is just bad programming as the game can just run without this check…

I’m also having this problem. I’m on Windows 10 Pro version 1803. I haven’t been able to update to any newer version, due to some unknown error I’m working on. But I don’t see why this is a problem in the first place. Its not with any other game I’ve played, including Cyberpunk.
Windows 10 LTSC user here. (I believe its a better version of windows to use, regardless of the intent behind its use) Any plans to patch D4 to support ltsc users? Sounds like there is a lot more of us then I thought.
I do have a dual boot setup for reasons like this but I would rather be able to play on my curated version of windows.
edit: Could we at least get a better error message? The you need win 10 1909 isn’t accurate because the current ltsc branch update has 1909.

It’s bad that blizzard become “Small Indie Company”.
This is result of firing qualified personnel for “some quotas”. You know what I’m talking about.
I hate limitations like this. Did you know that Blizzard will not let me download BattleNet app from their website because it detects my Chrome browser runs on Linux. F that.
And I run Diablo IV perfectly fine using Lutris and Wine. Never had Windows on my machine, and never will. Wine says “hey I am Windows 10” and Diablo IV swallows it. While real genuine Windows 10 users who paid Microsoft for this software cannot play. This is dumbest thing Blizzard is actually pulling right now about this game. Idiot-proofing the game by preventing everything from running if it’s not latest and greatest driver and Windows version. F that.
If you can, switch to Linux. I never had any crash in game, or lag, or freeze, shutdown, reboot or anything. Free Wine software works better than paid Windows 10, it’s crazy.

C:>Program Files> Battle net> Right click the Battle net Launcher> Properties > Compatibility> Uncheck the Compatibility mode
No boxes checked, still requires ve. 1909+
