That’s one way of looking at it. Another is that they know the game wouldn’t sell if they charged a standards price like everyone else. So they give it away for free and charge people for QOL convienances. SWTOR and other WOW clones turned to the same model when they couldn’t compete with WOW.: It’s a great model because there will always be players willing to buy those supporter packs (some as high as $480 dollars) so that they feel superior to everyone else and all it took was a swipe of the card. Not playing the game. So it makes perfect sense that a Diablo 2 clone would do the same thing. Wake me when POE2 puts real faith behind the product and is available to be picked up for a box price with the big boys. Until then it’s nothing more than a cheap, over bloated clone of Diablo 2.
Dude, are you seriously going trying to make the argument that D4 expansions will have the same amount of content as seasons? Get real. You are griping about paying 70 dollar for a base game, 10 for season pass and $25 dollar cosmetics(both of which is just as optional as POE, just cheaper in price), and an expansion that doesn’t even release until next year? Okay then. Yes one very clearly is worse than the other. One is so bad that it’s greatest defenders spend more time on the competitors forum than its own game forum.
