Hello, I haven’t played Diablo IV like 2 weeks. Yesterday I decided to continue my game. However, I encountered an issue. Whenever I press “A” button on my Xbox controller, chat windows is opening. I never used or will chat functions. It is literally unplayable with my Xbox controller. After that I switched to my Dualsense controller and I dont have an issue. I dont usually use my Dualsense controller on my PC if I have to. I don’t have any problems with my other games. It is just with Diablo 4. I would much appreciate if you assist me in this matter.
Hey there,
Try updating the firmware on your xbox controller. Go to the microsoft store and install the xbox accessories app. When you launch it should see your controller and check to see if it needs a firmware update. Perform the update and you should be good to go. (You may need to reset keybinds/controller bindings in game)
Found the solution. Steam was running background and after I closed the Steam, controller worked. However, this was not the issue before. I do not know what caused it.
Side Note: I update my drivers regular basis once a month. My controller is already updated latest firmware through xbox accessories app. This is not the solution.
This may be an issue with Steam having had an update on their client and how they configure the controller when its connected.
I find that unless I’m actually playing a game in Steam, I don’t run their app, it tends to cause some funkyness when minimized. Plus I don’t like apps using resources when I don’t need them running.
But I do this with other gaming apps as well. Even Battlenet, though its open more than any of the others. lol
