WT4: What's the point?

Well, thats a question. I have no idea.
I played around 3000 hrs in D3 (12 yrs ago) and didnt noticed difference between SC and HC.

But at least, HC gives you a motivation a hard goal. Yes, you can be killed by your own ISP, but apart from that, its a challenge.
Softcore is dead for me already.

More XP, Better loot.

I still don’t have the minion ring, i am 95.

It’s all RnG but WT 4 is the best.

It’s not, it’s just that world mobs start from 75, so it can look more difficult if you are 71.

When you start getting ancestral stuff and more levels, then it is very easy again

The whole point of WT4 is getting ancestral items, which have base item level +200.

That sounds very boring

You are not forced to play tier 4,

Compared to legendaries or uniques, I get more excited over rare ancestral drops. What’s wrong with you?

Plus, they are tradable!

no…

thats not what diablo is about lol.

in this game, grinding for a 5-10% boost in the exact same gear is…sad and boring.

The sad sad thing is that items scale eith your level. So you cannot find something useful and give it to alts or friends. Also you cannot find loot for other classes or general items useful for everyone.

Why have both ilvl and level requirements it makes no sense.

Make all ancestral gear have a level requirements of 70 and thats it. No scaling to the player level. Make them tradeable all .

Add at least 50-100 more uniques and have them a set ilvl requirement. For example have most of them around 65-77 level range and have some endgame powerfull ones around 80-82-84 or 87.

This current system is bad. Terribly bad

I had a unique drop in WT3 that I am still wearing today. I had an ancestral version of it drop in WT4 that was worse on every single roll on it. That is the problem of all loot. Most of my gear was min maxed in WT3 and its hard to replace without changing my playstyle from either losing affixes I like or getting worse rolls on them.

Getting a worse ancestral should never happen. Bottom roll ancestral should be at minimum the top roll of sacred. Then you would have gear progression. What we have now instead is a mess and makes the game completely boring from lack of dopamine hits for like 30+ levels.

Only it doesn’t work that way most of the time. I’m over 60 with my sorcerer running WT3 and still using gear I found when I was level 30 in WT1 because it’s better – BY FAR – than anything I’ve had drop in WT2 or WT3. My level 70 Barbarian has the same issues with WT4 gear… sure, the “item power” is higher but the actual affixes? Garbage. The problem is the ranges… you get gear with ranges like “+5.0% to +10.8%” and, inevitably, the ones that roll near the high end are for damage types you don’t do. “+10.6 for Overpower” great… never see that on my Wizard… oh look another level 60 with “+5.2 to Chilled” when my level 30 item is +10.6. With something like 60 different damage affixes all ranged at insanely different intervals the odds of finding better gear is practically nil. The only reason I upgrade is if I find a better aspect I can transfer with the Occultist. The gear itself is mostly useless junk.

Guessing you didn’t play early D3?

That’s what all ARPG endgame loops are though. That’s what the genre is.

“early days d3” is only helping the guys point.

Early d3 is a pox on the history of Diablo, so if your best retort is that this is slightly better than the worst it has ever been . . . . Erm, i guess so. . . But I expect better than slightly less stinky trash.

They must just copy some 20 year old game design and it will make items feel 1000000% better
Its like their own game, i don’t get why is it so hard to do
