That’s one of the things that annoys me the most. Sure exploding mobs here and there adds to the variety and danger, but why did they have to make every second mob use this?
Feels annoying and like a cheap cop-out for not having the imagination to come up with something different.
How do we increase dungeon difficulty? Eh it’s Friday afternoon, just make everything explode and let’s call it a day.

You jest but in truth this is probably exactly how most decisions were made. Constant procrastination by dudebros more concerned with harassing their female colleagues than working on the game they’re paid to design until management cracks down with a nonnegotiable deadline and then it’s all hands on deck for an afternoon trying to fit the work that should have taken months if not years into just a few frantic hours.
Of course it also didn’t help that the revolving door at Blizzard all but ensured this chaos was a permanent fixture at the office rather than a one off. I mean, for crying out loud, the person in charge of D4 atm didn’t even work for Blizzard until 2020… tells you all you need to know about what goes on over there.

For those who never played D2 they explode instantly upon death and do damage based on a percentage of their max health, they are also quite fast and mainly appear in groups while the entire area is so dark that you can barely see anything.
I can definitely see them coming back if we ever get to go to “the jungle” again.

If you do have children I would fear for their mental fortitude with a parent who spends so much time trolling other people for no reason. They will grow up to be just like you, and that is so very sad.

Not to mention the wierdness that happens when you try kite a mob around a corner and they all one tap you from fog of war.
They are very easy to kill and dodge, very predictable damage path and ai.
