Somewhat offtopic but when I saw this I immediately thought of this guy on Youtube who makes these amazing Powerpoint videos on Ukraine (channel Perun). Made me chuckle a little because I was thinking that would be cool to have, a nice long Powerpoint presentation presenting all the problems and flawed logic that Blizzard introduced starting with #3 and carried onto #4
IMO Blizzard looked at a round wheel (#2) and arrogantly thought they could do better, so they made a square wheel (#3). Resigned to the fact that the third wheel did not make the cart go any faster, they made a round wheel again, but it was the same as the first one just with better hubcap (D2R). But then someone else came along and said “Hold my beer, I am gonna do better than all these idiots” and made a wheel shaped like a pentagon (#4). And yet we still have people wondering why the cart doesn’t ride smoothly
We got a lot of this in General Discussion in the D3 forums until the game kind of died off a few years ago. But there it was usually anger about “my favorite class is too weak” or perhaps “this season sucks b/c of x/y/z” rather than an epic rant trashing everything about the game.
It is my first post in 27 years of gaming. I’m sad you did not like my “rant” but at least, it is epic, even in your eyes.
I did play the betas. First one did not count, 1 act, level 25. Can’t say much about an aRPG. Second was meh. I hoped all that I addressed in the post would be fixed.
Game release, I played it untill level 100 and bis to give it a try. I also rerolled classes to 25. I don’t know what length I have to endure. I probably have more hours into diablo 4 than you do, sadly, not taunting.
Try to pick one point in my post and prove me wrong.
Is this more of the oh-so-valuable feedback I’ve been hearing about on these forums? Do you think Blizzard actually believes they made the worst ARPG in history and that this is something they need to read?
“you knew what you were getting into playing hardcore”
“The game is already too easy, quit trying to get them to nerf it.”
“The Butcher is fine, you’re just too weak.”
“I was talking to Megan Fox earlier, she said she appreciates your salty tears. Man up and reroll, or cry like a baby. Up to you.”
“Kulle story, bro…”
Talking about cringe. Maybe you’re too much on the forums. Are you always that likable, you’re pretty hot recently. lol.
The one telling thing to me about this game and its current design is that I’m not excited about the loot. In fact, the loot is more of an annoyance than a fun factor.
I just dont like how everything revolves around status effects. Maybe its just a druid thing, but everything seems to be tied to some form of CC. All the damage increases or crit bonuses are all “if the enemy has x status on them”. Its a lazy way to force you to use your abilities in certain orders. Ive only played druid so maybe not every class is like that, but i find it extremely annoying.
I’m loving the game, but I think I agree with a lot of these complaints. It has tons of room for improvement, and dev responses are a mix of reassuring and concerning. They want ppl in the overworld, but nm runs are the best loot, exp, and only way to lvl glyphs. Then saying they’ll add teleporting (which is sounds nice) but not giving the same level or better incentive to do other activities is strange.
It’s definitely not the WORST one in history, but it needs a lot of help. I know you’re exaggerating but your points are valid and shared by a lot of people.
It’s because he loves the Diablo franchise and it really bothers him when something is called Diablo and isn’t up to the standards that a Diablo game should have.
