I installed 1.5.1 update and now the game wont launch. I click play on the blizz launcher and looks like its gonna go than just nothing at all the play button just goes back up again.

Same issues here. It looks like there’s quite a few of us experiencing this all to varying degrees. I can get into the game but my client crashes pretty quickly after launching it. Here’s hoping Blizz sees some of us are having an issue soon.

go to your %localappdata% folder. Delete the Blizzard/Battle.net folders. Reverify your files.

So update for me, I took your advice (I have no idea what any of that did as I just don’t understand these things) and I am in the game now. I ran into a helltide to see if I would be able to stay online and so far I’ve been on for 20 minutes. So fingers crossed, it looks like I’m good. Thank you!
Basically the cache files get incorrect or incomplete data. Deleting those files removes any discrepancies between patch versions.

The %localappdata% answer is the right one, I had a similar post and that was the only thing that worked for me.

Update: i restarted my computer and than it worked after doing that. thanks for the fix!
So basically 1.5.1 is a buff
This just works! Not only wa I know able to log in, run some infernal hordes without any pausing, lag, crashes, but it also resolved a nagging issue I havfe had since season 5 started where my CPU tempos were skyrocketing to 90 to 100 degrees.
After applying this fix, game ran at full ultra and my temps were no higher than 65 degrees (this is running a i9 13900k)

i’ve been dealing with this problem since the update. Inokis fix just works (for me anyway).
Can’t say thank you enough dude/dudette. When we get nothing from Blizz the community comes through…
