Not able to put quicksilver on table. There is no available action in ruined tower except:

Talk to donan
Talk to Taissa
Dusty note
Odd rabbit doll
Potted plant

I left game, rejoined. Beat boss again and still same issue? Will try other quest line and hope it fixes.

had same problem found out that using the portal will drop the item. you can go back and pick up the quicksilver and run it back on horse to witch tower to finish the quest.
