I work with a large team of people who use computers on a daily basis as part of their job, yet when I ask for something simple like “hey I have to put in an IT ticket for you what’s your Windows login” they’ll send me crap like their email address despite LITERALLY logging into Windows every day.
I would like to be hopeful that people gaming on PC are a bit more computer-literate but that’s doubtful since there are enough suckers willing to spend tons on an overpriced “gaming computer” filled with bloatware. Your simplification is still a 9-step process.
Again, I’m not doubting any information you’ve provided or that there are people that could really benefit from it, my issue is that it’s nonsense to say switching to Linux is an easy answer for people who base level don’t know what to do when support for their OS ends. People stymied by that are not computer literate.
