Will the rewards from trading in PVP shards be obtainable by non-PVP players?

There were already so many cosmetic options available to us from basic and legendary loot drops and many more we haven’t even seen yet. You won’t die if you don’t have access to every cosmetic in the game. Wait until you see if you even like them to worry about having to PvP if you don’t want to.

What would be good about PVP being bad and no one playing? There is literally no positive to PVP being irrelevant.

I never claimed so. In fact, my posts literally support your argument. The only part of my post that said otherwise had a STIPULATION that required for the PvP to be a failed system in Blizz eyes. I agree!

The only group that would be affected by this are completionists, that mostly like to just play solo and farm for days until everything is obtained. And yet again! Cosmetics being exclusive is only a problem if the PvP system is universally hated.

I never said it would be good for PvP to be bad.
I said it would be good for cosmetics to not be exclusive ONLY in case the PvP is bad.

It would be better if PvP was good, OF COURSE. But the reality is - there is a possibility that it will come out being sh1tty. Which is a warranted concern since most of ARPGs do not do PvP well.

All I am saying is: If devs miss the mark and nobody likes the system, it would be better if there were no cosmetics gated behind that system.

That’s how “IF” statements work.

Fair. I understand.

Such pessimism… people have played D2 for it’s PVP for 20 years and you are right, it blows… I played it for 10-12 years and was very good at it but I have all the confidence in the world that D4’s PVP will be FAR BETTER…

Fingers crossed?

I really hope it’s good because I do want to PvP myself.

I just think it’s counterproductive to dismiss an obvious trend and push “the only way of doing things” no matter how the system turns out.

It feels much better to be prepared for multiple scenarios and be ready to make adjustments based on how things work out. I am not hating on D4 here. I really want it to be “The Game” for me in the upcoming years.

And being flexible when it comes to issues that may arise sounds like a good approach to me.

All and all, I’ll see you out there, so make sure to process your shards of hatred quickly
 .

I’m right there with you

I think it’s a good thing to have to do specific content to get a specific thing, even if that content is PVP.

GL though, I’ll see you out there.

Edit: You can’t cheese it easily, see reply:

"You can only purify in odd hours if you enter FOH in the same odd hours because leaving the FOH with unpurified red shards will delete all those hard earned shards .

So make sure you purified any remaining shards that you carry before leaving the FOH region . The system will warned you"

Incorrect.

Youre confusing helltides with foh. Helltides are only every other hour, and they dont require purifying anything.

Pvp/foh is 24/7 and you can purify seeds at any time. Theres no limitations in any way shape or form other than a cap on purified currency, which was 300k in egcb.

Helltide, every other hour, drops cinders, which are used to open chests that drop legs and mats needed to max upgrade legendary gear, reroll legendary gear, and some are needed for the last 2 potion upgrades. The chests are scattered through the active helltide terror zone (which is a “randomly” selected area in the map, but never in a pvp zone) and cost between 25 cinders to 100 (maybe 150, my memory on the exact top end number is escaping me)cinders to open.

Both, if you leave the zone you will lose the currency youve collected since being there (in foh youll only lose your unpurified ones, anything purified gets banked and is available on all chars of the same format (ie if youve got some on one hc non seasonal, all hc non seasonal chars will have access to that currency))

Told you Id be around to correct you

I wonder if there’ll be any incentives to getting more shards to purify at once. I’ve seen other games give a multiplier if you stack them, as a kind of risk/reward thing because you have more to lose, but also more to gain if you hold out.

If not, just getting minimum shards and purifying it before heading out again may be the way to go, so getting killed loses you the minimum time

If you dont like the content that provides you with that specific loot, DEAL WITH IT and play the content if you rly want it that bad

Stop being a spoiled person and think EVERYTHING you do have to be 110% what you want to do and you still can get everything for doing it. that aint how games or live works.

Time conservation. Thats it. Its a risk, as you can get killed, and when you do, drop the seeds and they will be picked up by the player that killed you/other players, meaning all the time spent collecting them to that point is wasted.

You dont just drop some, you drop it all.

If you die to mobs, or the wondering boss, you also drop the seeds as well. If youre lucky, no one will be around to snag them and can recover the majortiy with minor loss.

The minimum is 1.

Have fun doing that 300k times to cap that currency. Purifying takes either 45 seconds or a minute, its early, dont remember exactly, its one or the other. 208 days of purification time will get you there.

I would hope that PVP cosmetic rewards, stay only obtainable if through pvping. This is coming from a player who is not interested what so ever in PVP to begin with as well.

If pvp cosmetics are obtainable through pve content, then there is literally nothing to gain by even stepping foot in the fields of hatred and defeats the whole purpose of the zone.

I can respect that there are players out there who enjoy pvp and want rewards for their form of content, and others should respect that too. Just because you don’t like a certain activity doesn’t mean the game should cater to what you want. The more content this game has the better overall it will be

Ish and afaik theres zero plans to change it. I dont think people crying will be enough to make them reconsider either.

You dont need to actually pvp for them. Just collect and purify seeds in the zone(s), which then turn into the spendable currency. Mobs drop them.m, not players (unless theyre holding ones theyve collected). Its entirely possible to be left alone while farming it and never have to engage in pvp at all to get it all. Unlikely, especially the first few weeks, but possible.

There were transmogs for gear, and some mounts you could spend the currency on… nothing too spectacular. The biggest draw, for me, was you could spend the currency gambling. Its EXACTLY like gambling with obols, but you could earn that currency faster and gamble more that way, so if you were targetting a specific aspect, that was the way to go. The gear is NO better than gambling with obols, odds for rolls are the same, its all based on your level.

That’s good to know, thanks

Ahhh i see another child hopped on dads account and is using words they heard but dont know the meaning of.

Also, a few hundred hours in egcb is how I got the answers to your question, which I answered very clearly. Youre demonstrably just another waste of time, which is pretty common here.

Dudes crying because his question was answered at a level even a 10 year old can understand. Still too advanced?

Pathetic.

Thats not what I said dude . You are not correcting me .
I accidentally copied the previous poster H1vemind whilst switching from another tabs in the same forum.
Read and observed the timestamp before acting as developers … You are not know all and be all … This is a forum , treat every one with respect and you will get respect

So you are correcting H1vemind …

Is it your job to be a condescending A Hole in every thread? I only ask because you are doing a considerably good job at it.
