More than half the time when i open the map i can’t click anything or see layouts, i have to close the map and reopen once or twice to fix it.
Anyone else have this issue?

Can’t say that I have.
It’s Force Move interfering with UI.
If you hold Force Move and open the map, you won’t be able to properly interact with it. You can still move the map around and zoom in/out, but you won’t be able to
- click quest blue dots/circles or whispers to track them
- see dungeon tooltips (that shows brief description of the dungeon and what aspect it unlocks if you haven’t completed it yet)
- use the map pin properly
- use the waypoints
etc.
As incredible as it seems, that’s what I’ve found out.

It’s an essential feature.

For you, maybe, but not everyone.
You can use Force Move, but make sure you release it before opening the map since that’s the workaround.
how the hell do you get out of mobs when you have a hard time seeing your cursor then?

I don’t have a hard time seeing the cursor, that’s how the hell… Perhaps you need glasses? It is NOT an essential feature for everybody. You may prefer it, but that does not make it a necessity.
I also play on a 46" monitor, so there’s that.
