Why, yet again, disregard trading?

I have played a lot of Last Epoch but never touched multiplayer, I have no clue what trading is like in that game.

That would be lovely.

A no-trade mode and a trade mode could theoretically work.
But SSF and no-trade are not substitutes. There should be a no-trade mode that still supports group play.
Heck, that mode is more needed than SSF if trading exists, since people can always choose to play SSF themselves. But you cant really choose to not be affected by trading in normal group play, as the people you played with might be trading.

Yep, if trade and no-trade modes are added, Last Epoch is the current role model on how to do it.

D3 was a live service game. And the game could change just like d4. There was no promise that things wont change. Its also explained in the ToS. Why there is no open trade in d4 has been discussed alot and blizzard still decide to keep it like that.

If Blizzard could monetize trading, I am sure they would. That seems to be the problem, not that it would create a whole new economy.

They can’t look at ANY game and think ā€œthis is what makes this goodā€

The real reason the RMAH got scrapped and people lost their jobs was because there were insiders profiting off of it.

Hey I made a separated thread that asks for SSF and Full trade modes. Feel free to comment on that and continue discussion. I believe we can have a compromise and there is no reason either side cannot enjoy the game the way they want. Current system do no support either game play styles and just bad.

That certainly sounds… interesting. Curious to see how it’ll play out.

I’m not sure how it’ll work if you can only use items found within that specific mode, yet can swap at any time? If I want to swap I have to play entirely naked somehow and re-build my gearset from scratch?

Shrug. I’ll give it a try one day. Game felt incredibly unfinished when I last gave it a try, but it does have potential

Ahh I see. Interesting. I am surprised I missed that.

Speaking only for myself, I have no interest in trading. Ever.

Then make game offline and local lobbies for multiplayer…
It doesn’t make sense to make an online only game, with no trading aspects.

That’s … actually really good !
I couldn’t have never thought of it but now that I’ve seen it, it seems so obvious…

And I see no issue in that. Join new discussion on separate thread.

I argue that we need both SSF and Trade modes.

Every single ARPG with an open trade feature struggles to deal with RMT. POE is the best example of that; RMT is rampant with the game and the only way to combat it is looking at hyper rare items and or vast currency exchanges.

Imagine how much a Harlequin crest would go for if RMT were allowed? $5,000? $15,000? More???
