I think 90% if the UI is fine. I do however, despise the radial menu.
Edit: I would also like more control over the chat. Where it goes, tabs, font… you know the usual basics that should be there.

its not just the spellbar and hp globe. look at when you open your character screen. There should be enough screen real estate there to list all the most important stats as well as your inventory and gear but instead we see like 3 or 4 primary stats and have to start clicking through ui menu options to get to our real stat page. That stat page then makes you scroll through it to see them all, like crit chance or resistances. These are all designs that started appearing in games after consoles had to be considered and tv screens 20 feet away.
I have no problem with the UI and I use a controller to play. It took a little while to figure out how to navigate it but overall it was ok once I got the hang of things.
Still not relevant.
I play PC, because of the higher FPS, 4k graphics, better textures, reshades, mods, ultrawide etc.
I’m not so petty, or entitled as to complain about the UI being similar to console on a game developed for multiple platforms. But when you come from a generation that gets participation trophies, I guess there’s no helping but to feel entitled.
Lets ease up. OG Diablo 2, did not have /any/ display of stats like that in the game and that was a PC game, not a console game. Yes we could use more on the front page, like resistances, but theres so many different affixes on stats that wanting crit, or vuln, or lucky hit, or overpower damage, etc is just too much for one spot. It could be a little better but the consoles are not to blame at all. Its a necessary evil in order to have more choice of affixes in the game.
One might suggest that they give us a spot on the character front page to display a stat of our choosing. Now that might be a good idea. If I am a crit build I could put crit there. If I am a lucky hit build, I could put lucky hit there.
I think it would be better to have dedicated keyboard/mouse and gamepad UIs like D3 had. (it is not about PC/console but the input controller). Currently it is a compromise to support both.
UI sizes should be scalable independently since it matters how big your display/tv is and how far away you are. There is already a font size option but I think it should allow more then the current settings. Fonts on my screen could definetly be even smaller than “small”.
You should chill about the entitlement, because that way you sound entitled. We’re in a forum expressing personal opinion, all of us. Yours is as worthless as mine in the grand picture to be honest.
Also don’t be so hasty to assume from what generation I come, again makes you sound entitled.
However there are a lot of players, if not the majority (a poll would be nice) that agree UI needs a serious revamp. If you are fine with it, good for you, skip the forum topic and pick a relevant one for you. You should know what spam is if you can afford your PC. Provided your daddy didn’t buy it for you.
How is 10 different fonts console’s fault?
It’s not – where did I say that?
I ended up plugging in my PC-compatible xbox controller for beta and enjoyed it sooo much more than using a mouse and keyboard.
Agreed. I prefer mouse and keyboard but I like that there is a choice. Also let console players use mouse/keyboard. The more options the better.
Dude the ui is fine on both pc and console. What people should be upset about is d4 not launching on the switch. Playing d3 on the switch is hands down the best diablo experience, you could possibly experience. And when it does launch on the switch ill own d4 on 3 platforms instead of 2. D3 sold over 30 million copy’s d2 sold 17 million copy’s yet people like to claim d2 is the greatest game of all times and they are wrong because d1 is but that’s beside the point. The reason d3 was so successful from the marketing stance is console sales. And i am willing to bet console sales will lead pc sales 2:1 with d4. However i am glad us console players aren’t getting the shaft this time around you have no clue how annoying it was when joining a public lobby and going from paragon 150 to 8000 after 1 kill because of a hacker.
The UI is ok but there is definetly room for improvements. And since this is a place to provide feedback from the beta it is totally fine people post their opinions.
Regarding Switch. Why not. I will always play on PC but I think a lot of people would enjoy playing on Switch. Not sure if it is feasible since the game requires a good network connection all the time.
Agree with the OP. The UI is the worst part of Diablo IV so far.
100% agreed. The most aggravating thing is that in order to views your stats (like resistances), you must open the crafting material menu and select a sub-tab there.
I don’t get console UI from it.
It’s basically the D2 UI but updated to look better.
The console UI is actually different to the PC UI, so this argument fails pretty quick.
What “exactly” is your problem with the UI?
Contructive feedback comes from being explicit about things, not generalizing and making bad assumptions/false statements.
It actually offends my 3440x1440 monitor that I don’t get ALL the stat info the moment I press C
I’d really like to have more action bars and not restricted to four abilities and generator and basic spender.
Having gear that can grant extra talents makes them feel worthless because you’re not able to have a higher skill cap in this game because it’s so restrictive.
The reason why D3 was so successful is/was not because of consoles it was because D2 was so successful that they knew porting it to console would make D3 more successful but make no mistake D2 made D3 the success that it was not the console.
you take away console sales and d3 sales would be right around what d2 was 15-to 17 million copy’s sold
