as i said, its not a “build your own arpg” game. You purchased a game with optional Group content. Why should any dev resources should be used up to make the citadel, or the open world soloable, when there are so much more interesting and important things to do? (let alone that it also goes against their monetization strategy of selling mtx)
Heck, if we are being honest here, even the base game was advertised as an mmo lite (which id personally disagree with).
Imagine purchasing that, and then being Shocked pikachu face.
Because 80% of the player base prefers to play like that would be the first thing I point to. Better question is why wouldn’t devs go with the 80%?
because as its been explained multiple times, just because 80% of the players happen to play solo at given points (like i also do as well) it doesnt mean they also dont like to group up. It really cant be that hard to grasp.
Right. They could spend their time making the multiplayer a functional, coherent experience instead. That’s my point. Even if you want to group, do you genuinely think the game as it exists now is a good multiplayer experience? If that’s genuinely what they want the game to be why does it feel like none of the content or class designs were built with that in mind? Is this just a group pinata game? It’s not even that because only one person actually gets to hit the pinata. lol

absolutely with you there. For me for example its not really acceptable that the citadel received no little update or changes that suit the season.

So give both options easy fix, yea I don’t know how it’s so hard to understand that a business should always follow the majority seems like a very simple thing to grasp
and run 2 extra servers? for people that probably arent likely to purchase mtx? well, good luck on that.
To me, it feels as if the vast majority of this game is a solo option. I only know of a few things that actually require groups.

Eh some people might. I’m actually kind of confused about why Last Epoch doesn’t let you buy cosmetics for offline play. I only want to play that game offline but I’d probably buy the occasional skin to support the game I’ve gotten a few hundred hours out of. But no real point if I can’t even use it.
oh they dont? didnt know that actually.
Why would they need 2 new servers to just remove the stand in a circle boss mechanics to make them soloable? Ssf crowd doesn’t buy cosmetics? Usually they are more fans of the game then everybody else
oh, is some statistic coming up again?
Lets just pretend like blizzard doesnt know what brings them the most money
Sure because devs are smarter then everyone else lol, that’s why all these studios are failing, they are just so good at there jobs we shouldn’t dare question them…
devs dont do business decisions :o
Devs tanking a game because of bad choices that most gamers don’t like ie the 80/20 rule and the game fails totally causing the studio to close had nothing to do with the devs eh? Y’all think ceos are in there brainstorming ideas and coding? Lmao
I’m dying to see one big MMO that still allows for raids, but also allows the soloer a way to do ALL the content. Surely today, there’s enough demand for that.
I cannot disagree with the first part of your sentence more vehemently.
MMOS are made for gaming drama nowadays and social disorder interactions.
Its like second life
D2 Itemization, Skills, Gameplay Good
D3 Itemization, Skills, Gameplay OK Actually a bit of a Step-down/back
D4 Itemization, Skills, Gameplay Meh World looks a little better but not
As fun as the first two
I suppose WoW has raid finder difficulty for people who don’t want or can’t commit to an organized group.
If you actually want solo though, it’s harder to imagine an implementation for that which actually keeps the content in some kind of recognizable state. Some older bosses can be solo’d because players have outgrown them in power, but even then not all of them are possible because of mechanics that aren’t possible without a group.
I guess they could make a version of the boss that they’ve stripped most of the mechanics so you can just see it for the story, but not sure how satisfying that would be.
There’s also the issue of making it so any spec could do it. Obviously tanks and some DPS would have an easy time, but a healer wouldn’t really do anything. Maybe there could be a bot mode that just fills your party with the roles you would need.
Personally, my dream MMO would have raids like they exist in WoW, but would also have solo and small group content that was made to be as challenging and rewarding as raiding, but designed with less people in mind for people who want to get that challenge without having to coordinate 9 or 24 other people.
One of my favorite times from back when I played WoW was early Cataclysm before they nerfed the heroic dungeons. It was really cool having 5 man content that I could do with whatever guild mates were on at the time which still required some coordination and put up a challenge. I remember spending like 1-2 hours on some of them early on and it was legitimately super fun trying to work out how to do the fights better. I haven’t really had an experience in a game like that since.
